Australian actress Melissa George has given birth to her first child — a bouncing baby boy. George and her French boyfriend Jean-David Blanc took to Twitter to reveal their news: WELCOME TO THE WORLD! OUR BEAUTIFUL SON Raphael Blanc just born at the American hospital of Paris. THERE ARE NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE THE LOVE.”
George and Blanc first met at a BAFTA after party in 2012 and have been dating for nearly two years. (Blanc is the founder of AlloCine, a French cinema service organization.) The couple first announced they were expecting last August, naturally on Twitter: “Baby on the way! So so happy…xx.”
The actress first rose to fame playing Angel in the Aussie soap, Home and Away. She later moved to LA and was featured in Mulholland Drive, The Amityville Horror, and 30 Days of Night. George also has had roles in Friends, Grey’s Anatomy, In Treatment, and The Good Wife.
George, who has lived in Paris for a year, recently said she was sick of people referring to her as Angel because she had the role 20 years ago.
“I love this city so much,” she said of Sydney. “And I want to come home a lot but the stress that this has created in me is not worthy of my health. I think it will be the last time [I visit and work here] for a while, to be honest, because I just get too upset coming home.” She continued, “I don’t need credibility from my country anymore, I just need them all to be quiet. If they have nothing intelligent to say, please don’t speak to me any more. I’d rather be having a croissant and a little espresso in Paris or walking my French bulldog in New York City.”
Melissa, my lips are sealed!
