There’s no time like summer to rekindle a romance. On the opening night of his Born and Raised World Tour, John Mayer dedicated a song to Katy Perry, and effectively removed all doubt about their reunion.
Actually, he didn’t just dedicate the song. He told the whole Marcus Amphitheater in Milwaukee about how Perry — who was watching from the mixing board — cared for him during the months where he lost his voice.
“I was just getting to know this girl,” he said, “She was more incredible than I ever thought. . . She was so patient as to even continue to get to know me and love me.”
Now, Katy clued us in over the July 4th holiday when she posted an Instagram photo of the two of them in coordinating stars and stripes gear. But a snapshot is one thing. Calling someone incredible on stage in front of witnesses takes it to a whole other level.
The song wasn’t just any old tune. It was “A Face to Call Home.” As in, “I want to dedicate this song to my Katy, who is my face to call home.”
Wonder when and how Katy will return the favor. Hopefully not with “Hot N Cold.”
