It’s officially official: Drew Barrymore is pregnant! This morning, there was a lot of “Is she or isn’t she?” speculation happening after photos were released from this weekend’s LACMA event honoring Martin Scorsese and David Hockney. Drew looked radiant (also known as glowing), and her long and loosely draping Vivienne Westwood hinted at … wait … was that … a baby bump? It wasn’t long before Drew’s rep began making the confirmation calls.
This will be baby number two for Drew and her husband, actor Will Kopelman. The couple have a daughter, Olive, who is 13 months old. Drew has been very vocal about her wish for a sibling for Olive.
In the September issue of In Style magazine, she shared: “I was an only child, and it was lonely. Some people love it and thrive on the independence, but I want my kids to have other kids around. Maybe two kids so they can run around life together, roll their eyes at their parents together like Rusty and Audrey Griswold from [National Lampoon's] Vacation. So however that’s going to come about, it’s gonna happen!”
Drew and Will may be looking to put some roots down in New York City before Olive’s little brother or little sister arrives. Last friday, the couple’s 6,000-square-foot, 6-bedroom home in Montecito, CA was sold for $6.35 million. Forbes is reporting that Drew and Will are looking to buy a 4-bedroom duplex on Manhattan’s Park Avenue. (Asking price for the property they are rumored to be looking at is $8.3 million.)
I am incredibly happy for Drew and her family. I will admit when I heard her being so vocal about her desire to have another child, I was worried. I know what it is like to want this specific thing so very much and struggle to achieve it. It’s wonderful news to see her good news!
Congratulations to Drew and Will.
