I’m going to just come right out and admit it, until a few weeks ago I had no idea who Waka Flocka Flame was. How I learned about this rapper with the best name ever from Georgia is just a wee bit embarrassing. But we are all friends here so I feel like I can be open with you. Here we go.
I found him because I follow Amanda Bynes on Twitter. I can now rest assured that it is OFFICIALLY her as Twitter has verified her account today.
Last week when there was a bit of a breaking news story concerning Amanda and the NYPD I noticed as soon as Amanda was back up on social media she started retweeting messages from supporters and one of the most vocal was rapper Waka Flocka Flame. His name stood out for me as much as his messages of support.
I know I am not the only one waiting to see what Amanda does next, but the truth is I’m still rooting for her. I’m still hoping she turns herself around and does a sequel to What a Girl Wants. It’s nice to see that she has other supporters, besides random Moms who are just a wee bit too old to be fan girls.
Waka’s long time girlfriend, Tammy Rivera, shared with Twitter the news that the couple got engaged on Waka’s birthday on May 31st. Instead of going a more traditional route with rings the couple got tattoos on their ring fingers. Tammy’s tweet has a link to an Instagram of the photo that has since been deleted, but Hip Hollywood has the image on their story of the engagement.
Congratulations to Tammy and Waka!
Next up for Waka is promoting non-violence in Chicago by performing in a concert at an undisclosed venue coordinated by Wallace Gator Bradley and his United In Peace, Inc.
(If Waka Flocka Flame is a response on Jeopardy at some point in your life, your’re welcome.)
