Follow the Former First Lady: Hillary Clinton Joins Twitter

Hillary Clinton Joins TwitterEarlier today one of the best Twitter bios I have ever seen made its debut on Twitter. It read, “Wife, mom, lawyer, women & kids advocate, FLOAR, FLOTUS, US Senator, SecState, author, dog owner, hair icon, pantsuit aficionado, glass ceiling cracker, TBD…” This is the Twitter bio for the brand new, and totally official, account of former First Lady Hillary Clinton.

She has tweeted exactly once, but the world is already giddy looking for social media quips.

In that first tweet she acknowledges and thanks Stacy Lambe and Adam Smith, the creators of the brilliantly on point Tumblr, Texts from Hillary.

President Bill Clinton has Tweeted out a welcome message to his wife, and daughter Chelsea Tweeted out a simple, “Welcome Mom!”.

There is also still lots of buzz in Hollywood about who should play the young Hillary Clinton in the biopic that would follow the former first lady and eventual secretary of state in her days as a lawyer in the 70′s, through her career and marriage to the future President Bill Clinton.

Sarah, here on Babble, recently wrote about how “The Twitterverse has been rife with casting suggestions” for this biopic, beyond front-runner Carey Mulligan. Now that Hillary is on Twitter, perhaps she will weigh in.

You never know.
