Sunday night Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum walked the red carpet of the Academy of Country Music Awards in a custom navy jersey dress from A Pea in the Pod. She tweeted a photo Monday morning from the red carpet saying, “My sweet husband, our baby girl, and I last night on the red carpet! First family photo of the three…”
Hillary married the drummer of her band, Chris Tyrrell, in January of 2012 and they have recently announced that they are expecting a baby girl.
In less than a month Lady Antebellum will release Golden, the band’s fourth album. Downtown is a single from the album and it debuted at 25 on the Country Billboard.
The band performed Downtown at the Country Music Awards Sunday evening.
What will be exciting to find out on May 7th will be if Hillary and her husband were able to incorporate their baby’s heartbeat into one of the songs. In an exclusive interview with Broadway’s Electric Barnyard Hillary says, “we have this song on our record that’s really sweet and special to us. It was the last song we wrote for the record, and it could be about a love relationship or it could be truly for a parent to a child as well, and so he was like, “that would be such a cool way to start that song.” So, it hasn’t happened yet, but I’m hoping. We’ve just got to figure out some way to capture it in high quality, because the little thing they use at the doctor and recording it on my phone wasn’t exactly great quality.”
Check out Lady A rehearsing their single, Downtown for Sunday night’s ACM awards. I wish I had moves like that when I was 6 months pregnant!
