Idris Elba: He’s Even More Handsome Than You Thought

Who is Idris Elba? He is a British actor, singer, rapper and producer who has starred in both British and American productions. His latest feature, Pacific Rim, came out this summer and is holding its own at the box office.

Last year the multi-talented Idris Elba directed and starred in the Mumford and Sons video, “Lover of the Light.” And you might have caught your first glimpse of him as Stringer Bell in HBO’s The Wire.

This week Irdis Elba turns 41, and Season 3 of his award-winning British crime drama show, Luther, premieres on the BBC. It’s a big week for a big, talented, handsome man.

“Just how handsome is he?” you may ask. Handsome. Pretty darn handsome. So handsome, in fact, that fans have him pegged as the next James Bond.

Go ahead and see for yourself.

YOU'LL need some sunglasses when Idris Elba flashes those pearly whites at you. Chances are good, however, that your sunglasses are less handsome than his.

  • Backwards Baseball Cap? 4 of 12
Idris Elba arrives for the UK premiere of 'World War Z', held at London's Leicester Square

Most people shouldn't wear backwards baseball caps, ever. But Idris Elba, due to his handsomeness, can.

  • Signing Autographs 5 of 12

He signs autographs really handsomely, don't you think?

  • Casual 6 of 12

He doesn't always wear suits. Sometimes he wears colorful casual clothes and that's OK too. And by "OK" I mean "handsome."

  • Toms 7 of 12

I think it's fair to say that most people don't look this handsome in Toms.

  • Other Blue Shoes 8 of 12
Idris Elba attends the 2011 BET Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium

It's hard to say because I've never seen blue and silver shoes like this before, but I can imagine them on other people who aren't as handsome as Idris Elba and they aren't working for me. On Idris? Working.

  • Leaning In And Waiting 9 of 12
Idris Elba attends the 2011 BET Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium

Idris Elba is just leaning in to the microphone with his hands behind his back while politely (tenderly?) waiting with his eyebrows raised for someone to ask him a question. There's something really handsome about this.

  • More Handsome Than Others 10 of 12
Charlie Hunnam, Robert Kazinsky and Idris Elba attend the 'Pacific Rim' UK Premiere, BFI IMAX in London

In a side-by-side comparison, Idris Elba is consistently more handsome than anyone who stands next to him. It's sad for them, but great for him!

  • With Pocket Square 11 of 12
Idris Elba attends the European premiere of 'Pacific Rim' at The BFI IMAX in London

Listen, it doesn't matter if he has a pocket square or not. This is just to show you that if he does have one, it doesn't take away from Idris Elba's handsomeness. In fact, it enhances it.

    I rest my case.
