Jennifer Lopez is Less Insecure After Having KidsKacy Faulconer
Jennifer Lopez appears on the cover of October’s Cosmo. She’s got a lot going on this year. She’ll be back on American Idol, she’s got an album coming out, and she has a part in the upcoming film, The 33.
Whoo! Busy lady. No wonder she’s let herself go… Ha! Hardly! That’s just my jealousy talking. JLo looks fab at 44, and she is at a really good place in her life.
According to the Cosmo interview, Jennifer used to struggle with insecurity.
“The biggest insecurity I had was my singing. Even though I had sold 70 million records, there was this feeling like, I’m not good at this. And while I was married to Marc, he helped me get over it. He kept telling me, You’re the only one holding yourself back from reaching your full potential as a singer. You have to let go’ . . . I was always so insecure and just kind of going along. Then I grew, little by little, and realized, wait a minute, this is not a fluke. I’m not a mistake.”
She admits that it wasn’t until after she had her children, Emme and Max, that she was able to let the insecurity go.
Since her divorce from Marc Anthony, JLo has been dating her former backup singer, Casper Smart. He seems to have had a positive effect on her psyche, too. She says, “Early on with Beau, I remember telling him how I have a real button on being ignored. And he was like, Listen, if somebody ignores you, then forget them. They don’t deserve to have your attention.'”
Sounds like he’s treating her right. I hope so! We always want the best for Jenny from the block.
