LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian Are Getting Real (On TV)Dresden Shumaker
I know what you’re thinking, “We just don’t know enough about LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian!” Thanks to a deal the couple just made with VH1, that’s about to change. Gurney Productions, the folks behind Duck Dynasty, have agreed to produce 6 episodes of a scripted reality show staring the couple, tentatively titled LeAnn & Eddie.
The couple released a statement with the big announcement: “We are really excited to be working together on a unique show that will give you a glimpse into who we really are, or better yet who we’re really not. We’re thrilled to partner with VH1 and the Gurneys to put our spin on a project full of love, humor, and music.”
Tom Calderone, President of VH1, had this to say about the show coming to his network in the fall: “LeAnn and Eddie are both talented entertainers who have really captured the public’s imagination in the last couple of years, but there is so much more to them than what you read in the tabloids.”
Us Weekly is reporting that the reality show will feature “the couple’s ‘normal modern family’ life of balancing career and co-parenting Cibrian’s two sons with ex-wife Brandi Glanville.”
Jumping into the world of reality TV could be a game changer for the couple, who are often on the unfavorable end of tabloid news stories. Couples Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson and Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott both found a new kind of fame and fandom from their reality shows. LeAnn and Eddie should do some binge watching of the charming presentations of Newlyweds and Tori & Dean to get some pointers.
