15 Celebrities Who’ve Had Cameos in Music Videos

At age 71, Paul McCartney is still making music. His latest single, “Queenie Eye,” is a pretty good tune. And he seems to be using his knighthood, or maybe his position as one of the most influential musicians of all time, to call in some favors.

His latest video is chock full of celebrities: Johnny Depp, Meryl Streep, Jude Law, Kate Moss, Sean Penn, and more. They seem to be just hanging around listening and singing along to Paul’s new song. Just a normal day in Sir Paul McCartney’s life? Maybe. But he’s not the first musician to bring in A-listers to a music video shoot. Celebrities and music have always gone hand in hand. They just love to collaborate.

Check out these celebrities who have had cameos in music videos.

  • Alicia Silverstone in "Cryin’" by Aerosmith 3 of 16
Alicia Silverstone spends the afternoon filming scenes in the 'rain' with her "Gods Behaving Badly" co-star Ebon Moss-Bachrach and spending time with her son, Bear Blue, in between takes in New York City

I don't know if you remember, but Alicia Silverstone was Aerosmith's "It" girl throughout the '90s. She appeared in a few of their videos. Most notably, Alicia starred in the music video for "Cryin'" with Lost's Josh Holloway (Sawyer!), who steals her bag.

Who wouldn't put their daughter in a video like that?

70th Annual Venice International Film Festival - "Under the Skin" Photocall

Scarlett Johansson appeared in Justin Timberlake's 2006 music video for "What Goes Around ... Comes Around." It's pretty dramatic what happens. I don't want to ruin it for you, but JT gets his heart broken by ScarJo — to which I say, join the club.

  • Natalie Portman in "Dance Tonight" by Paul McCartney 16 of 16
Natalie Portman arrives to the New York City Opera 2013 Fall Gala at the David Koch Theater

"Queenie Eye" isn't Paul McCartney's first star-studded music video. Natalie Portman appeared in his 2007 video for "Dance Tonight" and she stars with Johnny Depp in the video for this year's "My Valentine." It's really quite beautiful — Natalie Portman and Johnny Depp sign the words that Paul sings. But don't be fooled by Depp's guitar performance in the video; that track was laid down in the studio by Eric Clapton himself.
