Well, that was fast! This week Kate Middleton, the famously low-key princess, was seen pushing a shopping cart at a grocery store in Anglesey, Wales wearing a pair of skinny black jeans and looking like the whole pregnancy thing was just a collective dream of ours.
The only difference between post-baby Kate and Kate of a year ago (pictured, left), I’d venture to say is her fuller cup size, which you can kinda see from her striped top.
I will admit that seeing her bounce back this fast — and looking so effortlessly chic — left me with a surge of jealousy at first. A month after my kids arrived I was certainly not wearing skinny jeans or feeling up to preparing a meal!
But then I remembered that this is just … Kate. She is naturally gorgeous, has naturally amazing hair, and it’s probably just her genetic makeup to be one of those lucky women who can snap back in lightening speed without doing anything extreme.
New moms worldwide just finished praising her for not in any way trying to cover up her post-baby stomach when she introduced George to the world back in July. She was not self-conscious or trying to wear a corset or some sort of industrial Spanx for the occasion. Seriously, you could see some women resorting to that.
It was a moment that endeared her to women, even more than she already was. But now, will the claws come out?
Even if her current svelte shape is the result of happenstance, it will be interesting to see whether or not folks lump Kate in with the group of high-profile Hollywood moms who have been extremely vocal about their desire to get back into red carpet-shape as rapidly as possible. (Kim Kardashian, we’re looking at you!)
The Duchess has reportedly been breastfeeding baby George. That, and resuming her yoga routine is all she’s been doing, according to Us Weekly.
“They’ve been in Anglesey for almost a couple of weeks and their lives are more active there — lots of walking, lots of time in the outdoors,” a source tells the magazine. “And the weather has been great. I’m sure they have been making the most if it.”
