Walking Dead Actors Looking Clean and Glamorous

Whether you espouse the Walking Dead mantra of survival during a zombie apocalypse (“kill or die”) or not, I’m sure we can all agree that post-apocalyptic fashion is rather grim.

Sweat, blood, dirt, and brains does not pair well with the scarcity of washing machines and the dearth of hair salons. It’s not a good time, appearance-wise. It makes me feel bad for the actors who have to climb back into their stained and weathered clothing week after week to shoot the series, now in its 4th season.

We love our grizzled team of hard-core survivors. But take a little break before next week’s blood bath to see how nicely the actors from The Walking Dead clean up.

Rick gets dirtier and dirtier. Once he even drenched himself in guts to fit in with zombies.

But in real life he is fresh, dashing, wears plaid suits with lavender shirts, is British, and smells like Irish Spring.

Glenn's journey has been surprising. The dirtier he gets, the more of a heart throb he becomes. Still.

  • Steven Yeun 5 of 17

I prefer a showered, vest-wearing Steven Yeun with a little product in his hair over sweat-stained Glenn any day.

No one minds a little dirt on Daryl's face, as long as he continues to save the day with his piercing eyes and cross bow.

Still endearingly crumpled, but check out Norman Reedus in a shirt with actual sleeves and a tie!

  • Maggie 8 of 17

With her love for Glenn growing deeper with every episode, the audience really wishes Maggie could take a shower at some point.

Clean hair and no BO stains? This is so refreshing.

Blek. That eye patch is getting a little stale.

Just another dapper gent in a plaid suit coat with no eye patch. This is like comfort food for my eyes.

Beth stays pretty clean just babysitting Rick's baby all day. But I wouldn't call her sanitary.

But look at her clean glowing hair on this album cover. No wonder she's always pushing the lullabies.

She's tough, she's Rick's equal, and she's got a softspot for Carl. But the sweat is not under control. It's a turnoff.

But look at this! What a sight! Everyone is clean and adorable. Michonne, you minx.

  • Carl 16 of 17

If only one person on The Walking Dead could get a hair cut, if there could be some kind of hair-growing reprieve for just one survivor, I would want it to be Carl.

But, take him out of the matricidal apocalyptic nightmare that is The Walking Dead and Chandler Riggs looks like a fresh-faced young man. Cute.
