Did you catch the return of Jon Stewart to The Daily Show last night? The beginning of the show was just as welcoming and silly as you would expect. It quickly turned to the biting and pointed commentary that only someone like Jon can deliver. Entertainment Weekly correctly pointed out how much Jon seemed to relish jumping right into coverage on Syria. “Stewart’s political comedy has always been tinged with moralism, and he’s never shied away from speaking sincerely about issues that matter to him.”
Jon Stewart’s return to The Daily Show marks the unofficial start of Fall TV as far as I am concerned. I wrote last month that Jon is the Grand Marshall of the parade leading us into an autumn of pop culture delight. Oh what a parade it is going to be!
Did you grab the printable guide for September TV premieres? Well now I’ve got a printable for your October TV premieres ready for you. Which pretty much answers the burning question: WHEN IS SCANDAL COMING BACK?! (Spoiler Alert: October 3rd!) It also fills you in on two TV events this fall: Burton and Taylor on BBC America, and Toy Story of Terror on ABC.
Burton and Taylor stars Dominic West as Burton and Helena Bonham Carter as Taylor. The 90-minute drama has already aired in the UK and received kind reviews.
Toy Story of Terror is an original special debuting on ABC this October, just in time for Halloween. The story involves our favorite characters from Toy Story. On a road trip to grandmother’s house, one of the toys goes missing in a roadside hotel and the “terror” story begins.
What shows are you looking forward to seeing the most?
