I would really love to make the hot air balloon for Olivia and Jackson. These are some great ideas to keep the kids active this summer. Thanks for sharing these great tips!

  2. Danielle says:

All really awesome ideas! We are planning on camping out in our back yard this summer because we want to prepare our kids for camping away next summer!

A the backyard Olympics sounds like a blast. My kids are really talking about watching the Olympics on TV in the next few weeks and this would be such a fun thing to do with them!

  4. Danielle Smith says:

My two favorites are the backyard fun – camping out back and doing the Olympics. My small people are fascinated by the Olympics right now – so this is just perfect. (and a great idea for a neighborhood party too!)

  5. Aela says:

I just adore the idea of camping in your own back yard. We do it all the time and it really feels like a getaway :) Next time I think we’ll have some olympic fun too!

Some of my favorite early summer memories with my oldest is playing hopscotch. Learn the numbers, practice balance, play outside. So simple, so easy.

You can add camping in the basement to the backyard adventure. Our weekend weather has been terrible lately. Modern tents dont need the spikes in the ground, we do it in the winter too! :)

  7. Diana Stone says:

Love the camping in your backyard idea! That would work for us too – something to put on our summer list now!

  8. casi says:

Great ideas! I love camping in my back yard an so do my kids. It is so much fun even if it is in the backyard. That hot air balloon looks like so much fun! We will definitely be trying that before school starts.L

We love going to the farmer’s market during the summer. Even if we don’t end up buying anything, we love just to walk around and see all of the fresh fruits and veggies. We also love going to the beach and building sand castles. Although, my toddler loves to knock them down right away!

  10. Diana Stone says:

These are amazing ideas for long summer days. Ice Cream chalk is the best, easy for even toddlers to hold and draw with.

  11. JulieVR says:

We always struggle with keeping the kids busy over the summer months.. there are so many hours in a day to fill! Great round-up of ideas.. I’ll be passing these on to friends who have kids to entertain too!
