17 Day Diet Book: Is it Right For You?

Looking stylish and put together starts with feeling comfortable in our own skin. And as much as we hate it, many women would feel better if they were a little trimmer — especially around New Year’s Resolution time. The hot new diet — featured on Dr. Phil and The Doctors — is called the 17 Day Diet, and it has everyone talking.

But is it right for you?

Here’s what you need to know about the 17 Day Diet Book:

  • Dr. Mike Moreno, the man behind the diet, claims that you’ll see a dramatic change in only 2 weeks.
  • The 17 Day Diet book isn’t only about restricting calories and food choices, but it’s also about exercise. But don’t get discouraged, busy moms: Dr. Moreno claims you only need to exercise 17 minutes a day. 17. Minutes.
  • As far as the diet, every 17 days you’ll have to switch the amount of carbs, fats and proteins to “confuse” your body’s metabolic process.
  • You’ll also be given sample recipes to help you along.

So to recap, the 17 Day Diet claims that you’ll have a good amount of food options, less than 20 minutes a day of exercise, sample recipes to follow (read: no more meal planning) and a rockin’ little body in a matter of days.

Yet the process of “confusing” your body means that you’ll most likely have to prepare separate meals from the rest of the family (do you have time for that?), and you’ll also need the time and disciple to follow through with the diet. Because, let’s face it, a diet will only work if you’re consistent.

What do you think? Are you still willing to try fad diets or have you given up?
