I’m all for testing out the newest buzzed-about beauty products that hit the market, but there’s something to be said for sticking to the iconic classics.
For trusting the beauty products that have been continually awarded as the “best” for decades (looking at you, Chanel) — or to at least try the beauty products that EVERYONE seems to love.
Allure magazine — the #1 beauty authority — rounded up the 50 Beauty Products to Buy Before You Die, and here are my favorites from the list (+a few from my own Beauty Bucket List):

25+ Beauty Products to Try Before You Die 1 of 32Add these to your beauty bucket list...
Chanel No. 5 Eau De Toilette 2 of 32According to Allure, Chanel No. 5 started as an exclusive fragrance for her 100 best clients, and now it's the #1 selling fragrance in the world.
Buy from Sephora, $98 - $130
La Mer Créme De La Mer 3 of 32This face cream has a cult following for its soothing and restorative properties — but it's really the extravagant ($1,900!) price tag that catapulted it into a major wish-list item for beauty lovers.
Buy from Amazon, $155 (for ONE OUNCE)
NARS Blush in Orgasm 4 of 32This peachy-pink blush (with gold undertones for a warm glow) is said to be flattering on practically any skin color.
Buy from Sephora, $29
Chanel Le Vernis in Black Satin 5 of 32According to Allure, this was the first Chanel product to have a wait list, inspiring Internet bidding wars back in 2006.
Buy from Nordstrom, $27
Beachwaver by Sarah Potempa 6 of 32This newcomer to the beauty market already made Allure's list because "it's the best thing that ever happened to [their] morning routing." They go on to credit the curling rod for their "perfect Gisele waves" in half the time of a typical curling iron.
Buy from Amazon, $194
Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey 7 of 32This lip color — with a combination of red, blue, orange, and yellow pigments — is said to be universally flattering. It's also one of the most iconic lip colors of all time.
Buy from Sephora, $15
M.A.C. Lipstick in Russian Red 8 of 32Madonna made this shade famous during her Blonde Ambition World Tour more than 20 years ago, and it's still one of M.A.C's best-selling reds because of its universally flattering tone.
Buy from MAC, $15
BeautyBlender 9 of 32Known as the ultimate makeup applicator sponge for makeup artists, celebrities, and beauty editors.
Buy from Sephora, $20
Clarisonic Skin Cleansing System 10 of 32A must-try for everyone (and quite possibly the best $120 I ever spent on a beauty product). It removes 6x more makeup and dirt as your hands, which cleans out your pores and helps skincare products work more effectively.
Buy from Sephora, $119+
Mason Pearson Hair Brush 11 of 32You might be thinking what I'm thinking — "I would NEVER spend over $100 on a hairbrush." But perhaps the beauty gurus know something we don't, because apparently the Mason Pearson Hair Brush is magical.
Buy from Nordstrom, $88+
Dior Diorshow Buildable Volume Mascara 12 of 32Perhaps the most coveted mascara (or at least the most talked-about luxury mascara). According to Allure, the Diorshow's oversized wand was inspired by a toothbrush, after makeup artist Pat McGrath used one to apply mascara to a models' lashes backstage.
Buy from Sephora, $25
NARS Lipstick in Schiap 13 of 32Allure chose this shocking statement shade of pink as one of their "Beauty Products to Try Before You Die," but I'm willing to say that you should try ANY bold and bright lip shade at least once in your life.
Buy from Sephora, $26
Shu Uemura False Lashes in Farfallina 14 of 32Allure claims that these falsies look as natural as your real lashes — perhaps because of the elastic band that doesn't change your eye shape.
Buy from Shu Uemura
By Terry Baume De Rose SPF 15 15 of 32Apparently this lip balm (and overall skin-healing balm) is a mainstay on beauty editors' desks.
Buy from Beauty.com, $59
Urban Decay Naked Palette 16 of 32This best-selling eye shadow palette is globally adored — with one palette sold every minute. Urban Decay recently came out with a second "naked" palette, as well.
Buy from Sephora, $50
Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation 17 of 32Apparently THIS is what celebrities wear in movies and on the red carpet for natural, buildable coverage.
Buy from Nordstrom, $60
Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint 18 of 32This tinted moisturizer always flies from the Allure beauty closet for its lightweight formula in six radiant shades.
Buy from Amazon, $38
Tweezerman Slant Tweezer 19 of 32The best tweezers, ever — especially because Tweezerman will sharpen your tweezers as much as you need, making sure they last a lifetime.
Buy from Sephora, $22
Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage 20 of 32This much-loved concealer comes in two shades: one to match your skin color, the other to match its undertones.
Buy from Sephora, $30
NARS The Multiple in Copacabana 21 of 32The secret to bright, dewy skin on the runways.
Buy from Sephora, $39
Rodin Olio Lusso Luxury Face Oil 22 of 32Makeup artist Tracy Murphy uses this face oil to revitalize models' skin — especially those who have been traveling far distances. Apparently this facial oil instantly gives a dewy complexion to even the most tired skin.
Buy from Amazon, $122
Clinique 7-Day Scrub Cream Rinse-Off Formula 23 of 32This facial scrub has won an Allure "Readers' Choice Award" every year since 2004.
Buy from Sephora, $19.50
Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat 24 of 32This is, without a doubt, the #1 luxury concealer, with almost 2,500 positive reviews on Sephora.
Buy from Sephora, $40
Robert Piguet “Fracas” Eau de Parfum 25 of 32This scent was designed to represent Paris's freedom and femininity after their post-WWII liberation, and it's still regarded as one of the sexiest fragrances on the market.
Buy from Nordstrom, $95 - $135
LOréal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray 26 of 32Prior to 2008, this drugstore-brand hairspray was only available in Paris — causing hairstylists to hoard cases smuggled into the U.S. Apparently it gives the perfect finish (according to many hairstylists), and the fact that it's accessible definitely makes Elnett Satin Hairspray a must-try.
Buy from Drugstore.com, $14
My Own Wish List… 27 of 32Aside from Allure's list, here are some more best-selling beauty products that I've been wanting to try....
Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Foundation 28 of 32This liquid foundation has been raved about since it hit the beauty shelves, and is currently a bestselling (and top, top rated) foundation
Buy from Sephora, $42
Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream 29 of 32I suppose any BB Cream should be on your must-try list, but Smashbox's version has been continuously recommended.
Buy from Sephora, $39
Benefit Theyre Real! Mascara 30 of 32I've heard so many people recommend this mascara that I have to give it a try. It has to be the top-selling mascara at Sephora for a reason!
Buy from Sephora, $23
Diorskin Airflash Spray Foundation 31 of 32It's an AIRBRUSH foundation that has a near perfect rating (out of almost 2,000 reviews) on Sephora. Must try, one day.
Buy from Sephora, $62
M.A.C. Ruby Woo 32 of 32There are quite a few red lip colors I want to eventually try — NAR's (red-orange) Heatflash and Bite's Pomegranate, for example — but Ruby Woo is the red that all reds are compared against. It's quite possibly the most iconic red lipstick of all.
Buy from MAC $15
