I love bicycling, so I am checking out bike style wherever I go. In Portland, I am always spotting cute bikes locked up on the street or noticing the 1890s-style guys on vintage rides, or girls in cute dresses riding a classic cruiser with a basket. When I was in Brandenburg, Germany last summer, all the older farmers in the country rode bicycles as their means of transportation. Usually overalls were the standard uniform, and no helmets were worn. When I was in Sweden I noticed posh girls in heels and even party dresses riding bikes. I love that you can adapt bicycling to your own style, skill set, and athletic ability. Everyone is welcome to make it their own. My bike is a vintage Raleigh, European delivery bike from the 1970s with a cute fishing basket on the front, of course. It always seems to be broken though, so I dream of a shiny new bike. Here are a few of my current favorites!
