The chalkboard craze continues! But this is way better than another fruit-shaped wall decal. The wizards at Swiss toymaker Naef have applied a thick varnish of chalkboard paint to a set of basic maple blocks. Such a simple idea results in such a special toy.
The Colorem cubes (you choose a set of 12 or 25) come with five water-soluble chalk crayons, a sponge, and an elastic cord. Add your kid’s imagination to the mix, and the possibilities are endless. They can create and erase drawings to their hearts’ content, or keep favorite masterpieces and continue working by just rotating the blocks to a blank side. You could end up with an amazing home-made six-sided puzzle.
More pics and ordering info are after the jump.
Colorem can also be used as traditional blocks would, for stacking and building and counting and learning. Try taking up the chalk yourself to add letters or numbers for the littler ones. Seriously, endless possibilities. Colorem is just now arriving in the US, to order email firstname.lastname@example.org. Prices are $60 and $100 for small and large.
