Biggest Fall BEAUTY Trends from A to ZMichelle Horton
The fashion world is all abuzz about Spring 2013 — the hottest colors and patterns and trends walking down the Fashion Week runways — but us here in the real world are just starting to wrap our heads around Fall and Winter of 2012. Let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves.
Just as there are plenty of big trends for clothes and shoes this season, there are equally as many trends for beauty — the hottest makeup looks, nail polish colors, and hair styles.
Here’s a quick A to Z round-up of all the on-trend beauty looks of the season:
A is for Alluring Eyelashes 1 of 26Lashes, lashes, and more lashes. This Fall is all about a bare face and bold lashes. And for those not blessed with alluring lashes, today's falsies are better (and easier to use) than ever.
Purchase at Sephora for $12
B is for Blunt Bangs 2 of 26It was seen all over the runway, now all over celebs — and it soon may be seen in your own reflection, if you like to follow hair trends.

C is for Cat Eyes 3 of 26If you haven't mastered the cat eye, this is the season to nail it down. It's back in a big way.

D is for Deep Chocolate Browns 4 of 26From hair to nails, rich chocolatey brown is everywhere.
E is for Eyebrows 5 of 26As are bold eyebrows! Ease up on the tweezing and/or fill them out with an eyebrow kit for the trendy look.
Too Faced Brow Envy Brow Shaping & Defining Kit, $35
F is for Fun Color-Blocked Eyeshadow 6 of 26The classic Fall 2012 colors — greens, blues, purples, and even reds — are also showing up on people's faces. Specifically around their eyes. This trend started on the runway, where the makeup artists played with fun color-blocking of bold colors. Recreate the look with the bright colors in makeup palettes.
Sephora + Pantone Universe Shades of Nature Eye Shadow Palette, $55
G is for Geometric Eyeliner 7 of 26It wasn't just the "cat eye" seen on the runways, but all sorts of funky geometric eyeliner — meaning a thin-tipped liquid eyeliner is a must.
Urban Decay 24/7 Liquid Liner, $19

H is for Hazy Rose 8 of 26Pantone named "Rose Smoke" as one of the colors for Fall 2012, which is easy to replicate in makeup.
bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 4.0, $30
I is for Intense Blush 9 of 26Replace your bronzed brown with a pink flush — and don't be afraid to go bold.
Tarina Tarantino Dollskin Cheek Palette, $45
J is for Jewel Tones 10 of 26Jewel-toned colors aren't just for fall clothes — it's especially trendy to wear deep blues, greens, and purples around your eyes.
1. Sephora by OPI, The Garden of Good & Evil Nail Mini Collection $16.20
2. Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner, Purple Snap $19
3. MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Shadow, Matte Green $20
4. Sephora Collection, Blue Glitter Eyeliner $12
K is for Kempt Hair 11 of 26Break out the hair straightener; this Fall is all about sleek and smooth hair.
GHD Gold Professional 2" Styler, $225
L is for Lacquered Lips 12 of 26Shiny, shiny, shiny!
BITE Beauty Honey Lip Lacquer, $24
M is for Minimalist Makeup 13 of 26As much as it's fun to play around with fun Fall makeup colors, there was just as much "minimalist makeup" and bare faced beauties on the Fall runways. This new kit from Benefit is one of my favorite kits for a smooth complexion that looks natural.
Benefit. How To Look The Best at Everything $30
N is for Nude Lips 14 of 26Speaking of minimalist makeup, nude lipgloss is very "in" this season.
Lorac Couture Shine Nudes Duo, $28
O is for Ornate Accessories 15 of 26
P is for Polished Ponytails 16 of 26
Q is for Quiet Pink 17 of 26A happy medium between nude and bold lips, this soft pink is especially pretty for the chillier months.
Tarte High-Performance Naturals, $24
R is for Retro Bouffants 18 of 26Another big hair trend first seen on the runways, this retro look is back.

S is for Smokey, Smudgey Black 19 of 26There's nothing subtle about the new updated smokey eye — with smudged, exaggerated black liner and shadow. On the opposite end of the spectrum from the "minimalist" look is a very dark, moody, almost gothic trend right now.
Stila Smudge Pots, $20
T is for Timeless Red 20 of 26A classic is a classic — so do yourself a favor and find that perfect red lipstick this season.
NARS Lipstick in Fire Down Below, $24
U is for Unkempt Braids 21 of 26
V is for Violet/Grey Nails 22 of 26As soon as First Lady Michelle Obama walked onto the DNC stage, the Internet exploded with tweets about her violet/grey nail polish. Very on trend for Fall 2012, the First Lady only helped catapult this color into "must-have" status.
Lancome, Vernis In Love $15
W is for Wine-Colored Lips 23 of 26As I mentioned in my post about the biggest Fall Fashion Trends, burgundy is the "it" color for Fall — and it's especially popular for lips. Going along with that dark, gothic-like feel of the season, deep wine-colored lip colors are especially chic.
X is for Xtra Moody Nails 24 of 26Pack away your neons. This season is all about the darkest of nail polish colors: blues, greens, burgundy, grey, black, etc.
1. Butter London 3 Free Nail Lacquer in Big Smoke, $14
2. Sephora Collection Nail Lacquer in Prom Night, $4
3. Sephora by OPI in What's A Tire Jack?, $9.50
4. Nails Inc. in The Thames, $9.50
5. Sephora by OPI in Meet for Drinks, $9.50
6. Sephora by OPI in In The Shadows, $9.50
Y is for Year-Long Orange 25 of 26When Pantone named "Tangerine Tango" the color of 2012, they certainly meant for it to continue right to the end.
Sephora + Pantone Universe, Color Of The Year Collector's Edition Set, $34
Z is for Zany Nail Art 26 of 26Nail art isn't a trend that's dying down. Expect even more wild nail art ideas spreading around Pinterest.
