Clever Idea: Mismatched Dipped Chairs

If you’ve spent some time on Pinterest, you’ve no doubt seen dipped chairs (and possibly other pieces of dipped furniture as well). The bottom six inches or so of the chair legs are painted in a different color, giving the appearance of having dipped the chair in a bucket of paint. It’s a cute look, but once you’ve seen it a couple of times, it can quickly lose its novelty.

The example above and below by Alexander Waterworth Interiors for Hally’s London still feels fresh though! The mismatched combination of pastels and unpainted wood on bentwood Thonet chairs is sweet, and the dipped top half mixed with the standard lower portions is a clever touch. File this one away if you need a little decor inspiration — it’s a great DIY project to freshen up the furniture you already have.
