Cooper & Kid: The Coolest Gift for the Coolest Dad

Father's Day gift idea

I’ve seen quite a few monthly subscription boxes aimed at kids and parents, but I can honestly say I’ve never seen anything like the new Cooper & Kid box. I opened it up expected to see small samples of products and maybe a craft or two, but I was in no way prepared for the awesome waiting inside.

First of all, it’s aimed at Dads and their kids. And rather than pander to the “Gah teach me how to play with my kids” stereotype, Cooper & Kid is for the modern Dad who wants to do something COOL with their kids.

That’s not to say I didn’t like the box, but the theme — How Things Fly — included a lot of shooting and flying and falling. You know, dude stuff.

But you guys! This box!

There’s a full-sized catapult kit, for starters. There’s a parachute guy who has already been dropped from every window on the second floor, even getting stuck on the roof at one point. There’s a SKY LANTERN (which immediately made us think of Tangled) and a bunch of DIY projects and resources. And our new Missile Launcher pretty much made my kid the coolest boy in the neighborhood.

It also includes a bedtime story, which introduced us to the Fly Guy series (and now we’re big, big fans). Even the box turns into a toy airplane!

I mean, this is cool stuff.

It’s a bit expensive ($65), but the box definitely has over $100 worth of goodies. Right now they’re starting out with one introductory box, with the hopes of expanding into a full subscription service soon. And I’m not sure the official age recommendation, but I’d say probably 4+.

But with Father’s Day around the corner, the first Cooper & Kid box will keep your family plenty busy. Check it out over at Cooper & Kid.
