These Paper Parasol Topiaries are the perfect centerpieces for any kind of beach/tropical/summer-y luau, but especially for an upcoming Cinco de Mayo party, surrounded by margaritas and Coronas.
The best part? They’re incredibly easy and affordable to make:
The craft, created by Jeffery Rudell at Craft Stylish, will take no more than 20 minutes to make, and can be used again and again for your summer soirees. You’ll need:
- Two styrofoam standards (18-inch height with 6-inch diameter globes).
- A box of paper parasols.
- Some kind of pot, like the clay flowerpots that Jeffery used above. Hostess with the Mostess suggests using galvanized metal buckets or colorful planters for a Cinco de Mayo party.
- Ribbon to cover the stems of the styrofoam standards.
- Something to fill the pots. Jeffery used rice, but Hostess with the Mostess suggests filling them with tortilla chips or dry beans for Cinco de Mayo. Having a beach party? Use sand!
