Father's Day Gift Idea: A Great Shirt

If you’re like me, you’re still scrambling to come up with a gift idea for Father’s Day. Not the tie, not the grilling tools… boring, and we’ve all done those before. Seeing as I shop for a living, I thought I’d share my fave men’s button down shirts, ones that are tried and true, on photo shoots and in our house. As well as a new brand that seems to have all the right ingredients to be the coolest new line…

For a slim fit that looks just as good tucked in as out, Theory is the best choice. The fabric is quality and they offer a range of soft colors and subtle patterns. Lots of online stores even have them on sale right now (Bluefly has a good selection). And from Bergdorf Goodman my favorite is this one— that washed out blue would look good on most any guy.

From Saks Fifth Avenue I like this one, this one and this one.

Steven Alan is also another favorite in our house. They wrote the book on casual, relaxed shirts. The Reverse Seam or the Single Needle are perfect for your guy’s slouchy weekend style.

And as for that new find that I mentioned earlier. It’s called Jack Robie after Cary Grant’s character in Hitchcock’s “To Catch a Thief”. It’s only available on line and therefore no costly overhead. They pride themselves on high quality for low(er) prices. Read here for more on their philosophy.
