I probably receive at least 5 emails every week asking me for diaper bag recommendations. Which is an excellent question! But it’s kind of tricky to answer. Because diaper bag needs change depending on all sorts of things (number of kids, city or suburbs, parenting style, etc.). And because there are so many really great options out there.
It would be an enormous task to catalog every diaper bag on the market, but today, I thought I’d showcase five companies that have something new and cool to offer:
1) Allen Avenue Designs.
This line offers great looking bags in fun colors. I love the urban feel of the designs — they almost feel like a bowling bag. I think these would work for both moms and dads. A good choice if you you’re looking for a not-too-big bag.

2) Momma Couture Bags.
These bags are insulated throughout. So your bottles and sippy cups stay at just the right temperature. They also have a unique wipes pocket — made for easy access and designed to prevent the wipes from drying out.
3) Mrs. Smith’s Bags.
I featured these two-story bags a few weeks ago. They have a built in drawer! I used this model on my recent trip to the BlogHer conference in New York —there’s a deep pocket on the side that fit my laptop perfectly. Also: They come in lots of price ranges.
4) J.J. Cole Technique Bag.
J.J. Cole offers 5 different bag styles (plus they recently acquired Fleurville — which I’m guessing means they’ll be expanding their collection even further), but I think the Technique Bag looks different from almost everything else in the diaper bag market. It works on your arm or on a stroller. I love the bright green option.
5) Timi & Leslie Bags.
Timi & Leslie offers more styles than any other diaper bag company I’m aware of. And. They look the most like any gorgeous handbag you might carry (filled with diapers or not). So many great ones to choose from, but the new colors in the Charlie line caught my eye first.
What about you? What have you seen that’s new and hip on the diaper bag scene?
