Five Last-Minute, Easy, DIY Advent Calendars (There's still time!)

By LMayes |

December is here! It all starts today…but there’s still time to get that advent calendar up. Here are some quick, easy (and inexpensive) advent calendars that you can pull off in minutes. They’re great for after-school craft projects too. (My son and I made two of them in about 30 minutes yesterday afternoon). To check out five easy, cute options, keep reading…

25 Small Folded Paper Envelopes from Quiet Fish.

Chinese Takeout Boxes from The Red Thread

Shoe Organizer Advent from Eighteen 25.

And these last two, we just made at my house. Why two? Well, one is about receiving and one is about giving. I’m attempting to teach my son that the Holiday season is about both.

The Stocking Advent. (It’s all about the getting.)

And The Giving Advent (Each day has a do-good suggestion.)

  1. [...] I found a lot more super easy…and cool…Advent Calendars that you could easily whip up in… [...]

Love these ideas! We always had “Advent practices,” nice things to do for other people written on little slips of paper. We pulled one from the jar every day.

    Love this.

    A “giving” advent calendar.

    Brilliant.

These are some awesome ideas! I’m not one for the traditional advent calendar. I get tired of my kids begging for their piece of candy all day! It doesn’t seem like they learn anything from it, either. I guess I have the rest of the afternoon to think up an alternative. Thanks for the ideas!

We are already loving the “giving” calendar (the last one). (I love the idea of calling it “Advent Practics” too, Helen Jane!) Plus, I got 2 hugs out of it before 8 a.m. Not bad for a Wednesday!

    Loving this.

Yeah, next year we’re totally doing activities instead of gifts. So much more fun.
