I came across these beautiful handwoven baskets the other day on Etsy by a shop called Jjangde and was immediately drawn in. The baskets, which are handmade by women artisans in West Africa, are made of strips of recycled plastic which are wrapped around coils of natural fiber to create bold zigzag patterned one-of-a-kind pieces. What’s also cool is, while working with women in West Africa, Jjangde ensures the proceeds from each purchase go to support schools in the same region.
