How to Apply MakeUp for the Holidays: Put Your Self First

daniellesmith daniellesmith |

I am insatiably curious when it comes to makeup, fashion and all things style — but not from a ‘high fashion’ perspective.   More from an average mom who would LIKE to look her best most days without having to spend hours doing her hair and fixing her face and also, without spending a fortune on all things ‘self’ related.

That isn’t to say I don’t think you and I should both find ways to put ourselves first — after all, that is the point of this series, yes? But I want to help you do it as peacefully as possible.

Since we are in the midst of the holiday season, I thought it would be fun to talk about spicing up your makeup for the holidays. Since I’ve never claimed to be a professional makeup artist, but am lucky enough to know a few people who ARE, I asked.

Think darker, dramatic eyes, lighter lips. And don’t forget about your eyebrows.  Here are the tips.

I’ve continued to practice these techniques and find I get better each time. Do you have any tips to share?

Thank you to Kevyn Idoux for the makeup you see on me in the video.
