J.Crew Controversy: A Pink Pedicure for a Little Boy

This J.Crew ad featuring J.Crew’s creative director, Jenna Lyons painting her little boy Beckett’s toe nails pink has sparked some serious controversy from left wing to right wing over fashion influencing gender identity. Lyons tells us in the ad “Lucky for me I ended up with a boy whose favorite color is pink. Toenail painting is way more fun in neon.”. Do you think it was inappropriate? No doubt kid fashion right now is very gender neutral. How do you feel about this trend? Do you think it’s harmful?
