We all know that the skinny jeans trend is getting a wee bit out of control. First, it was the tweens and now toddlers and babies are getting in on the act. According to the Wall Street Journal (which covered this topic in their unflinching, investigative tone), parents are incensed over this disturbing style-over-comfort trend, likening it to a subtle form of child abuse (not really, I just made that last part up myself).
But with the back to school season upon us, what is a mom to do? Luckily, the skinny jean trend has many other more comfortable alternatives to rival it. The skeggingsm leggings and jeggings trend, of course. Here is the best of the best roundup of whatever “eggings” your conscience permits:
Skeggings: While skeggings may not be new on the scene, these cute denim and striped skeggings from Olie Bollen just came in straight from Japan. A fetching and comfy combo of skirt and leggings, your tot will be wow them in school.

Jeggings: If you’re going to cave into the peer pressure and pick up some jeggings for your baby or tot, you might as well go all out with this stunning pair from Joe’s Jeans. While you yourself may not be able to work this trend (and for the record, I am personally passing on this one), your tyke can still be the hippest of them all.
Leggings: For those who feel the whole jeggings and leggings thing is a bit too risque for their tots, the Tea Collection has the cutest pair of ruched leggings that are modest, stylish and cool. Check out fellow blogger Gabrielle Blair’s take on the entire inspired collection.
