It often feels like there are two ways to shop: go small and independent, supporting an artist directly, or go big-box and shop from a nice (but nameless) collection. Sometimes there is a good middle ground though, like when a designer collaborates with a brand on a capsule collection. Usually, such collections are for fashion, but artist Leah Durner has recently created a mini-line of accessories for the home for west elm.
Most of us aren’t buying original art on a daily basis (right?), but a new tray or pillow is a nice way to bring a little more art to your home, beyond the standard print. You can read more behind-the-scenes info about the collection at west elm’s blog, Front & Main.
