Let's Panic About Babies!

Let's Panic About Babies!
Have you had it up to here with pregnancy advice? Endless medical facts?  People pestering you with their own personal opinions under the guise of helpful hints? Or perhaps you’re just tired of people not seeing childbearing for what it really is: a source of unending hilarity.

When you think of the leading pregnancy guide, what comes to mind?

A. Trusted resource! The diet recommendations soothe me to sleep on a daily basis.

B. Handy bludgeon! I use it to beat my man about the head for getting me into this situation in the first place.

C. Lumbar support. I can’t bear to read it, but it really improves the way I feel after sitting in my my office chair.

If you answered A, B, or C, Let’s Panic About Babies! is a must-add to that pile of pregnancy books mounting on your bedside table.

Written by Alice Bradley and Eden M. Kennedy, two extremely funny writer/bloggers who were apparently horrified by the madness they encountered on the road to motherhood, LET’S PANIC ABOUT BABIES! How to Endure and Possibly Triumph Over the Adorable Tyrant Who Will Ruin Your Body, Destroy Your Life, Liquefy Your Brain, and Finally Turn You into a Worthwhile Human Being is almost definitely the funniest book about pregnancy and baby-having you have ever read.  Both Alice and Eden ranked high on the Babble’s Best Mommy Bloggers list, so you know they take this entertaining others thing seriously. The Let’s Panic book grew out of the Let’s Panic web site, which has been providing laughter-based relief to  expecting and new parents for years.

While all the other pregnancy books you read are intended to teach you how to navigate the choppy waters of pregnancy and new parenthood, Let’s Panic About Babies! is not trying to teach you anything except one very important thing: do not take this business too seriously. Because if you do, you will crack under the pressure and/or lose your mind, and then this child rearing business is going to become really difficult and not very much fun.

And you know what they say, Laughter is the best medicine. Especially when you can’ttake any of the really good kinds, because you’re PREGNANT.

But wait, the authors of Let’s Panic have a solution for that problem, too:  Baby Safe Alternatives to Common Recreational Drugs.

Or you could just buy the book.

And if you’re not convinced yet, those talented ladies over at Let’s Panic have made this little film to provide further enticement.
