My Favorite Discontinued Toy: Adventure Mountain

It may look like a big, plastic, green monstrosity to you, but it looks like love to me. A few years ago, my son spotted this toy in a consignment shop (he was two-years-old at the time) and he went crazy over it. Sadly, the toy was located in a play area for kids – it was not for sale – and the shop owner wouldn’t part with it. As soon as I got home, I surfed and scanned eBay for days and finally purchased one. We still have it today and both of my boys LOVE it.

You see, this might be the most amazing discontinued toy in the world!

The Little Tikes Hot Wheels Adventure Mountain is 24″ high x 38″ wide x 24″ deep. It’s quite a mountain! There are bridges, ramps and multiple tracks. You can take the mountain peak off and store cars in it. The best part, NO SHARP EDGES! My boys love this toy and put Hot Wheels on it and even Thomas and Friends have take trips through the mountain. The only cars that don’t fit as well are the Disney Cars, because they’re too fat.

You can find these mountains on eBay in really great condition. They typically sell for about $150, although they may be listed for less. For example, this one is listed at $76 and it has 17 bids. Shipping can run about $40. I believe the toy was discontinued a few years ago, but it’s still super. I’m not sure if we’ll ever get rid of ours.
