I consider myself a runner. When I lived in California I would run five to 10 miles, three to four days a week, often on hill trails, with my good friend and then running partner in climb, Lauren. When I moved to New York 12 years ago, I joined a gym so I could run on a treadmill. You see, I am a runner, but a fair weather one. Literally. I refuse to run in the extreme heat, cold or rain. And unlike California, New York isn’t generally mild and mostly sunny. This being my disposition, coupled with the fact that I work in fashion and pay way too much attention to what I am wearing 24/7, I naturally needed a stylish running shoe to help motivate me. But I also needed a good performance shoe with proper support for my flat feet. Unfortunately the two didn’t seem to go hand in hand. Until now.
I recently discovered Newton running shoes, and not only do I LOVE the design, complete with bright and fun color combinations, these shoes are by far the most techically advanced that I have ever hit the pavement in. Their secret? The patented Action/Reaction Technology that basically is designed to absorb and then return energy back to you. In short, it’s a running shoe based on Sir Isaac Newton’s Third Law of Motion: “For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.” And all performance enhancement aside, I can attest from the reaction I get from fellow joggers —not to mention my own excitment of putting them on before every run—makes the action of buying them, well, simply genius. see more styles after the jump.
The stability performance racer is designed for people who pronate, and is engineered for speed, distance and performance.
The neutral performance racer is designed for natural running, and like all the styles is engineered for speed, distance and performance.$155.
