Oil Paintings on Pennies!

landscape on penny
Jacqueline Lou Skaggs has created an amazing set of 12 oil paintings – all done on discarded pennies. Referencing the miniatures of 17th century Dutch oils on copper, Skaggs themes for the paintings are those of “the binding ideologies that define our family, religious, social and political worlds.”

Her website lists the origins of each image, each of which has a rich history. Given the detail when seen up close, it’s easy to forget that these are, in fact, images on pennies. Amazing.
