Teaching Kids to Care For Earth: Kiwi Crate

The folks at Kiwi Crate (who make monthly subscription DIY kits for kids ages 3 to 7) have recently created a Care For Earth crate just in time for Earth Day coming up this April 22nd.  The kit which inspires kids to protect the environment and reduce their impact on the planet has some fun eco-friendly hands-on projects included like a paper making kit where kids learn first-hand how recycled paper is made, a stamp making project using things from mother nature, such as impressions of fern and aspen leaves, and they also get to make their own shopping bag (to help reduce the use of plastic bags). This crate includes a booklet of unusual, creative projects using household items that would otherwise be thrown away. Kids recycle materials like coffee cup sleeves, CD cases and juice pouches into pretty, fun and useful crafts.  You can sign up for a monthly subscription, each month Kiwi crate sends over a fun crate filled with season-themed projects.  Price: $19.95 per month.
