The Nursery Within a Nursery

I try to include affordable baby and kid items, I really do, but every so often a marvel of design comes along and I am forced to share — price be damned. This mini nursery house was designed by Dutch designer David Keune and it had me at hello baby. The clever little nursery named Nina’s House includes everything a baby needs. We’re talking a crib, a storage area, changing table and even a playpen in one gorgeous little package. It’s perfect for those of us who don’t want to bother designing a separate nursery (or  who might not have the space for one), but want baby to have all the trappings of a modern, minimalist baby nursery.

Besides, this is not just about looks, Nina’s House (yes, we’re on a first name basis) is infinitely practical. The roof, connected with yellow ropes, can be opened and the base lowers for when baby wants out of the crib and into a bed. The designer even thought to create a storage chest that can be jimmied open with just a touch of the knee so you can change baby with both hands and still have all the essentials at your disposal.

More photos and swooning after the jump…

Playful doesn’t begin to describe this one. The cute cut-out windows guarantee that parents have an eye on baby at all times, and it can be moved around to other rooms thanks to two two wheels under the house. David Keune thought of everything. Now if only I can figure out how to pay for this one. Price on request — you know what that means.
