Top 10 Aprons for the Thanksgiving ChefMichelle Horton
You could bring a side dish, dessert platter or bottle of wine to Thanksgiving dinner, but why not be a little more creative and thoughtful with an extra special gift: a beautiful apron for the chef. (That is, of course, assuming that the person cooking is a woman! We’re not sure he’d appreciate all the frills.)
Here are our Top 10 favorite retro aprons, all of which make a great hostess gift:
10. Shabby Apple “Carrot Cake,” $40
Shabby Apple has a great line of retro-inspired aprons, which Cathy introduces us to here. We really love this bright, happy “Carrot Cake” print made from cotton Westminster Designer Fabric.
9. Turquoise Floral Full Apron, $25
This handmade floral apron from the Etsy shop Sommer Designs is made from durable linen in bright contrasting colors. It’s almost too pretty to wear!
8. Jessica Steele Audrey Deco Dot Apron, $32.95
She’ll feel like she slipped back five decades in this retro-looking number from Jessica Steele. Just add some bright red lipstick and a pair of pumps. (If you love retro aprons, Nadia found more cute ones here.)
7. Doris Black w White Bias Apron, $32.95
No matter her personal taste, this Jessica Steele apron is a simple, classic style that will look flattering and feminine on any woman.
6. Epicurean Style: Susie, $39.95
Epicurean Style has a variety of reversible aprons that are as pretty as they are functional. We especially love the Susie style for it’s autumn-like feel.
5. Jessica Steele Audrey Cherry Cupcakes Apron, $32.95
Whimsical, fun and girly, we wouldn’t be surprised if she whipped out her Kitchenaid immediately.
4. The Lady’s Apron, $32
We don’t know if it’s the polka dots, flared skirt or cute little bow, but this Anthropologie apron is retro perfection — as is the entire Anthropologie collection.
3. Three-Star Apron, $32
Okay, so this is way too pretty to wear around cranberry sauce and gravy, but how incredibly gorgeous is this sophisticated, sexy Anthropologie apron? Talk about a thoughtful hostess gift. (In fact, it might be more of a gift for her husband…)
2. Tea-and-Crumpets Apron, $32
Another gorgeous apron option from, you guessed it, Anthropologie. It’s almost too adorable to just wear in the kitchen! They also sell it in blue, which is just as pretty.
1. Trousseau Apron, $38
Anthropologie does it again. There isn’t an aspect of this apron that a woman wouldn’t adore. In fact, she just might want to cook formal dinners and hold lavish parties more often.
