My 3-year-old son is all about Disney Junior — especially Jake and the Never Land Pirates, Doc McStuffins, and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
So when I handed him my iPhone yesterday and told him he could go to “Pirate School,” it was all he could do to contain his excitement. Of course he knew exactly how to operate the games — like the seek-and-click “Map & Spyglass” game where he found treasures on the screen, and the “Pixie Dust” maze courses — because anything electronic comes second-nature to this generation.
He even made his own little pirate avatar with a photo of his face (making an “arrrgh” expression, of course). Click through to see more about this Disney Junior app, plus another free app from his other favorite show:
You can download this Jake’s Never Land Pirate School app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch (for free!), or you can opt for the second free app: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Road Rally. The Mickey Mouse app is only available on the iPad, however.
Both of these are highly effective at quieting down busy little girls and boys, especially on long road trips. Another option: Disney’s full length episodes available online or on the iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch — all for free.
Tonight, August 8, we’re having a Disney Junior Twitter Party at 9 p.m. EST — where you could win an iPad! RSVP here and use the hashtags #spon and #mackidtips. Join us!
Note: Comcast Xfinity subscribers have access to premiere content, including a live feed of the network online and through the app. After the live feed, current shows will be available “on demand.” Perfect if you’re in the middle of a show and need to run out to do errands. No complaints from the kids that they’ll miss the end of their show. Or perhaps there are several kids in a family who like different programs. One can watch on the TV, while the other watches on their favorite device. Missed their favorite show? They’ll have up to 10 days to catch up on WATCH!
And if you don’t have Comcast, you can contact your cable provider and ask for the service via the Web site or the app.
A big thanks to Disney Junior for sponsoring this campaign. Click here to see more of the discussion.
