What better way to share your love with your kids on Valentine’s Day than through a book? The following two story books share poems that share the strength of a parental love:
How Do I Love You? by P.K. Hallinan — The book’s poem begins “How do I love you? Let me count the ways…” taking Shakespeare’s classic love poem and turning it into a beautiful story about the unconditional love from parent to child. It’s easy to read with vibrant, fun pictures–a great way to spend time with your little ones on Valentine’s Day, and you’ll also be exposing them to a little classic Shakespeare (steering clear of the “pound of flesh” references).
Wherever You Are My Love Will Find You by Nancy Tillman — This poem begins,”I wanted you more than you’ll ever know / so I sent love to follow wherever you go.” The beautiful illustrations picture and ethnic and gender neutral child, so that all kids can identify with the book’s message.
