  1. Carrie Beth says:

I would like to nominate my family. I am a single parent and this year has been hard for my daughter. I suffer from mental illness and so I was not able to work. I would love to give her a wonderful xms! She deserves the best!

  2. Teri says:

I nominate my friend, Mary. She has always been kind to EVERYONE and has even taken in a high school kid that needed a home. She’s got a little girl and a little boy on the way, and she could use a special gift for Christmas!

  3. ummzak says:

I think Carrie is definitely deserving, but do consider my case: I’m a single mom, having fled my abusive husband while pregnant. I started a business from home last year because I can’t afford child care or transportation, and things are especially hard now that my ex is refusing to pay child support. My little boy is 19 months, and the holidays are especially hard for me, because I can’t give him the family he deserves nor the presents I’d like to give him.

  4. Heather Moses says:

We are a family of four trying to make it through on one income. It made us sad looking under our tree last year and we wanted to make this year better for our kids. This would be amazing !

  5. Davina says:

There are so many in my family that would benefit from this. We would use this to give all the kids in our family, nieces, cousins and my son a great Christmas. My family: ours, aunts and uncles and cousins all have had job losses and financially struggled. This would make our family Christmas morning amazing for all the kids

  6. Davina says:

How can I edit my above post. To many words. Please help

  7. Kelly says:

Just another family struggling through this economy. 4000 miles away from all our family and would love to brighten our kids worlds on Christmas morning. We don’t deserve it anymore than anyone else – but we would surely appreciate it. Thanks Babble!

  8. Heather Coburn says:

In spite of our terrible financial situation, and avoiding foreclosure proceedings by literally days every month as we try and catch up our three months behind mortgage payment, I still have the happiest little boy in the world, and the best father for him I could ever want. A father who struggles every day to find work that will get us through since being laid off earlier this year. I continue to do my volunteer work with http://www.nilmdts.org and keep hoping that putting out the best karma I can come up with will reward my little guy in the long run. A gift of toys for him would be a very special thing indeed.

  9. Tara says:

I nominate my family. We are struggling in this economy and trying to get by on one income which is very hard at times. It breaks my heart to think we may not be able to have gifts under the tree for our toddler. Such a great opportunity.

  10. Linda Hill says:

I nominate my daughter, Lyndsey. She is a brand new Mom of a beautiful baby boy, Gage. She is now a full time mom, college student and also has a job. I have been unemployed since January and would love for them to have a wonderful first Christmas.

  11. sandi says:

Hi, I would like to nominate my family. We are the everyday american family, there is a dad, a mom, and two beautiful little girls. My husband is a wounded warrior and so we have had a rough few years, however we are trying really hard to make it work. This basket would mean so much to our family. It would allow my children to have a great christmas and will contribute to the family as well.

  12. Brandy says:

As a mom of one, with another on the way, I handle daycare, a full-time job, and the chores. I wish I had the ability to provide these goodies to my family. However, we only need so much, winning this; I can benefit families around me for this holiday season.

  13. Melissa Woodward says:

I gave birth to our daughter, Ella Rose, in the bathroom of our Portland home, by myself, August 26, 2010 in our bathroom (not by choice). I was experieincing contractions & called my husband at work who assured me he’d be home shortly. I was in the bathroom getting ready to go to the hospital while our two year old, was brushing her teeth. Suddenly I felt an intense contraction…long story short, my 2 yr. old ran & hid, & within 10 minutes or less I delivered our second daughter while I was on the phone with 911. If I win this prize, I will not only share it with my immediate family, but other family & friends as well since it is of such a generous size…afterall it’s the season of giving :)

  14. Leah Smith says:

I nominate our family. With two wonderful children, one of which was born with a very unusual brain disformation that requires much of our income to go to therapy sessions and medical bills. Her father was recently diagnosed with colon issues that may require surgery with the anticipation of procedure costs we have had to cut way back. Thank you for your consideration.

  15. BARBARA HUNT says:

I would nominate my mother in law and sister inlaw…My sister in law has 3 young children and currently lives with my motherin law..she is her caretaker. My mother in law has suffered with hepetitus, broken back, broken legs, serosis(sp?) of the liver and currently diagnosed with emphazema. We arent sure that she will be around much longer and would love to make this Christmas extra special for her,my sister, and the kids. They all have been through so much but have stayed strong and deserve the best! This would be such an amazing gift for all of them!

  16. Lauren Hale says:

I nominate my own family. My husband has been unemployed since April. We do not know how we will provide Christmas for our three children. We are both looking for work but have been unable to find one. Any extra would be donated to a local woman’s shelter.

  17. Angela says:

After NATURALLY becoming pregnant with triplets in 2007, my whole world changed. I can’t afford daycare for 3, so no longer work. This would help my husband and I to give our 4 children Christmas!! My daughter participates in many community services, would be nice to see her get back!

  18. jessie says:

because our family would share it with friends!!!

  19. Erin Myrick says:

My Loves:We lost everything. We moved to a rental and he stole our $ & it forclosed in 3 mon.Our daughter was abused in her daycare,All our $ for her B-day in Dec. is gone. I just want to see her smile again. She & my husband are my life. She told me, how can we give back when they took everything…I said Faith….<3

  20. Dianna says:

Dan & Ayshia Sigler are both serving in the U.S. Air Force. September 16th, they welcomed Audrey Rian. Ayshia has overcome many obstacles in 2010, and struggles with being away from her family; especially her grandfather. I would hope winning this basket could serve as a love letter from home.

  21. Kelley p says:

I nominate myself. It’s been a tough year, were on baby number3 and one income, and I would love to be able to do just a little more for my girls then what I can now!

  22. Miranda says:

I would nominate my family. We are a family of 4 soon be a family of 5. I due with our 3rd son 02/2011. We are a struggling family of one income since it is too expensive to put our sons in daycare or preschool. So I stay home with our boys while my husband fights for our freedom in the US Navy. He spends time away from his family to support us and his Country. This would really help out this year for our family :)

  23. Lisa lambert says:

I would like to nominate my Mom & Dad who helps raises my 2 nieces and nephew.. Their Dad which is my brother got killed in an automobile accident 4 yrs ago and my mom and dad has been helping raise them they try their best to provide for them the best way they can my dad can’t work and neither can my mom.. We help out as much as possible. Their the best parents and grand parents any one could ask for. My nieces and nephew would love the package

  24. Kristin Neibert says:

My friends Rob and Teri could use a little sunshine. For the past 3 years their daughter Maddison has undergone numerous surgeries and several long term stays in the hospital The financial strain has been immense and they really would just like (in their own words) “to catch a break.”

  25. Crystal Hartley says:

I would like to nominate my family. My youngest son was born in 1/2010 and has had some medical needs that have put a strain on our family emotionally and financially. At 9 months old our son has had one medical issue after another. His special formula alone cost us 420 a month!!! With two other young children this year has been tough. I quit my job half way through my pregnancy because of high risk issues and I am currently looking forward to re-entering the workforce once our baby gets healthy :)

  26. Dawn Sweet says:

Please accept this nomination on behalf of our family. We are so fortunate to be raising two little girls that asking for anything more would seem a bit selfish. We would be grateful beyond words to be chosen as the receiptiant family of this wonderful prize.

  27. audrey haynes says:

Please consider my sister-in-law Michelle, a single military mom who is currently deployed to Kuwait. Her kids’ father is not around for them & she is struggling financially as well as missing them terribly. They are 2 and 5 and currently living with me, my husband, our 3 yr old & our baby due in Feb. Michelle will not be home for Christmas and I want her to win so that she can give her kids something special even though she won’t be with them.

  28. Julie says:

I woke up this morning to the first snowfall of the season, and it was a big one. I looked out the window in the dark (it wasn’t quite 6am) and my sister, a single mom of 3 and more than full time teacher, was shoveling our walk.
She works hard, goes to school Thursday evenings to get her masters degree, and parents her 3 kids amazingly (with hardly any TV!). I admire her hugely and she could use a break.

  29. jamie ferguson says:

I’d like to nominate the Poirier Family. They are SO giving in every way that they can be. They don’t have much but they are always willing to give of their time & talents. If i need a sitter i can always call them. They serve at local charities & at our church! They are such a blessing to a lot of people. They could really use this!

  30. Jennifer says:

I would like to nominate my family –it has been a rough year. I was a 35 year old stay at home mom, who loved her kids more than anything, then in Sept. I suffered a brain bleed and had to have a major brain surgery. I lost the use of my left side and was hospitalized for 40 days. For a mom who had never spent a night away from my kids. I haven’t been able to hold my baby girl!!This has been heart breaking and really challenging for me, my husband, and my 3 and 6 year old. Every day I am working to get better and be the mom that I was almost two months ago. IT would be fantastic to give my family something terrific this holiday season. Thank you.

  31. Jennifer says:

I just nominated our family above. I just wanted to add that this basket would also allow my kiddos to understand how to give to others. With all the medical bills I don’t think that we will be helping other families this holiday season. Thanks again.

  32. Michelle Vodrazka says:

I nominate my postnatal fitness instructor Jules. Jules is an amazing, caring person who is dedicated to making moms healthier and helping them feel good about themselves. Jules always helps out other moms and brightens their days without asking for anything in return. Please give her a merry Christmas!

  33. debra says:

I nominate my own family. This is such a generous gift so I would share.Holidays are very sad for my children as their Mema died Christmas morning, she was our rock and support when I was diagnosed with lupus and battled breast cancer.Although it’s hard to not be sad this would lift our spirits on a sad day.The animal child would also be delighted to receive gifts.Blessings Deb

  34. Gina says:

I nominate my sister. She has 6 kids age 10 and under (including 3 year old twin boys) and is pregnant with number 7. Her husband works away from home at a gas camp for 2 weeks at a time (then home for 2 weeks) so she is essentially a single mom half the time. She is an amazing person and also struggles with mental illness. Her strength and determination are such an inspiration and I know a gift like this would be so wonderful for her family!

  35. Amy Hillis says:

We have 4 sons. 3 have had liver transplants. Our youngest has been hospitalized for the past 3 months. Dad has been doing his best to be Mom & Dad while I’m away. I miss the boys something awful and winning this would be a lovely surprise for them. Thanks!

  36. Laura says:

I would like to nominate my friend, Tami Olsen and her family for the Christmas basket. They have 4 children, the youngest only 2 weeks old. His name is Logan, and he was born with Apert Syndrome. He will require many surgeries through his life, and will have life long learning disabilities. They are living with their parents right now, and saving money to get a place of their own. They cannot afford a Christmas this year. Please choose this family!! They are a very kind, warm family who have just hit a bit of a rough spot, and need a hand!! Please give these 4 children a Merry Christmas!!

  37. Jacquelynn F says:

I am going to nominate my family, but I don’t want anyone to take this as whining, this is just the facts…. I am a 3 time cancer survivor (age 10, brain tumor[Menegeoma], age 21 Uterine Cancer [discovered when I was 6 months pregnant], age 36 skin cancer), as well as a Service Connected Disabled Veteran (US Army 6 years). My Husband has Crohn’s disease and had over 30 inches of intestine removed, and our oldest son is bi-polar. So we are living on a fixed income and have huge medical/medicine bills. My car is so old and rusty it doesn’t go in reverse, but at least it goes forward!

  38. Lisa Abejja says:

I would like to nominate my family. My children face constant challenges. My 13 year old is legally blind and is constantly bullied, My 10 year old suffers from ADHD, my 33 month old has severe eczema and asthma and is constantly in hospital. My poor kids need a break.

  39. gretchen g says:

I was going to nominate my family b/c we are low on money this year so we can’t have the kind of Xmas I’d like to give my kids. However, after reading everyone else’s hardships I realize my family is pretty darn lucky and can probably do without the extra toys. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!!

  40. AutumH says:

I would like to nominate my friend Bobbie. A single mother of two juggling work and school among various responsibilities. The past several years have been tough on her so I would love for her to be able to give her children and herself a Christmas to remember.

(Thank you for the chance and I hope everyone has a Christmas filled with love and good cheer!)

  41. Kayla Clay says:

I want to nominate my friend Tami, her husband and their 4 children. ages 5 to 2 1/2weeks. The youngest was born with Apert syndrome. an extreamly rare syndrome diagnosed in every 160,000 to 200,000 births.
    symptoms include
    *Prematurely fused cranial sutures
    *A retruded midface
    *Fused fingers and toes

it’s more than jsut physical features tho I suggest to anyone reading this please google and find out more about this syndrom!

he could also have a number of medical problems during the course of his life. he will undergoe many surgeries and they have a long road ahead of them! Tami is a wonderful mom and really deserves to have a little bit of hope. This is a great thing to give them to save them money for dr visits and such. So that the kids have a great christmas as well. She has been extreamly positive through out the entire thing and she feels blessed that he is hers of course. In fact he is a joy all on his own. But I still want to do something for her. So instead of nominating myself, I nominate her. For beign such a great person and a great mom.

  42. Elenna says:

I nominate the Crew family. I don’t know them personally, but since reading about the shaking of baby Emma in daycare I can’t get it out of my head. I have been thrilled to read of her progress, but imagine that after all of the medical costs, the holidays must be hard on this family and would love to know that Emma and her older sister received some holiday cheer.

  43. RookieMom Heather says:

My friend Crystal has two sons and is the best mom to them. She is so great at stretching and being creative to make due with whatever life throws at her and I would LOVE to shower her with gifts.

  44. Lena says:

My family and I went through a lot! We moved to the US 5 years ago and it’s been so hard for my husband to find a job. He is a hard worker and does everything he can to provide for our family. We have a 2.5 year old daughter and a 4 month old daughter. I got pregnant Christmas of 2008 but lost my baby boy at 23 weeks and it’s been very hard since. I would really love for our family to have a wonderful Christmas this year and am sure the kids would be thrilled to receive these beautiful presents!
    Thank you for the chance!!!!

  45. andhono says:

I nominate my friend, Devon. Her 7 year old daughter has had epilepsy of an unknown cause since she was 6 months old. Devon and family have tirelessly struggled through hundreds of seizures, challenges with drug and occupational therapies, and the isolation that having such a child brings. She rocks.

  46. AValentine says:

I’m completely incompetent when it comes to gift giving, so my kids would be thrilled with some hip gifts. And it doesn’t hurt to have some help when my husband is out of a job.

  47. Dara says:

Since leaving work to care for my youngest with Neurofibromatosis this year, my family has struggled. We’re dealing with unpaid electricity bills and nervous system tumours. I want to give my older kids and my baby a fantastic Christmas and take the financial weight off of my husband’s shoulders.

  48. Livi says:

I’m nominated my friend Dara. An amazing woman who supports everyone around her despite going through a very tough time with her son who has neurofibromatosis. If anyone deserves this, she does.

  49. Jen says:

I’d like to nominate Julia – a hard working (and soon to give birth to her second son) mom who single handedly brought up her first son Max while finishing her MBA and passing her CPA exam (with flying colors!!!). You go Julez!!! Hope you win – you deserve it. Jen

  50. Kathleen says:

I am nominating my parents. They are the best grandparents to 12 grandkids, and two more on the way, that you could ask for. My mother recently had to quit her job because she broke her hip, and before that she battle breast cancer and won! They always watch the grandkids at a drop of the dime for me and my brothers/sisters, no-matter what is going on in their lives. They are actually watching my sister’s baby, who is in the Navy, while she is deployed for a year. They do what they can around the holidays, but this gift would help make a special holiday even better.

  51. Maggie Smith (Desperately Seeking Santa) says:

2 weeks after I found out I was pregnant my husband lost his job. Now I have a 3 week old and I have been out of work for over 2 months due to pregnancy complications. My 3 year old is starting to ask about Santa and I cry when I think about him not getting anything this year because Santa can’t afford to put food on the table let alone presents under the tree!

  52. Meredith says:

I’d like to nominate a family who lives up the street from my brother. We met them around town and their daughter and my nephew became bffs. She was diagnosed with leukemia last Christmas, shortly after her mother gave birth to a second girl. They’ve had a really tough time since the mother had to quit working to be with the little girl during treatment. They’re lovely people and this would really make a difference for them.

  53. Christine Sinkewitz says:

I WOULD LIKE TO NOMINATE MY SISTER. SHE HAS BEEN GOING THROUGH SOME ROUGH TIMES ANYMORE. SHE IS A SINGLE MOTHER OF THREE (3YR OLD, 4YR OLD, AND 11YR OLD). STRUGGLING BETWEEN HER BEING SICK AND ON THE VERGE OF LOSING HER HOME. (I WISH I COULD HELP HER BUT I AM LIMITED MYSELF.) I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE THEM A REASON TO BE HAPPY FOR THE HOLIDAY AND MY NIECE AND NEPHEWS SOMETHING TO UNWRAP ON CHRISTMAS. (I WISH I COULD DO MORE.)

  54. Leighann says:

I nominate my friend Sarah and her family. Although I haven’t seen Sarah in years we keep in touch through mail and facebook and I’ve watched her children grow and her newest addition. Her husband is a minister and she is a stay at home mom who I am proud to learn from. Her family continually gives and it would be nice for them to receive.

  55. Kim Rader says:

I’d like to nominate my friend Shelley M. She has been fighting a brain tumor most of this year. She is fighting hard and has not given up her faith or her positive attitude. Her faith and attitude are amazing – something we should aspire to! She has a lot of medical bills and twin girls at home. Please give her and her husband and their girls the awesome Christmas they deserve.

  56. Camille says:

I nominate my friend-she has 13 kids: one is blind & struggling through preschool, one has CF & just got a wheelchair, one struggles with RAD which takes it’s toll on the whole family, one is away on a church mission, one is in college, and her husband works tirelessly to pay for all that. She can use any holiday help possible because most of the money goes to medical needs, paying for special therapy equipment & food (3 teenage boys). Please consider making her holiday easier by granting her these gifts.

  57. heather says:

I’d like to nominate my family, but not to keep it, rather to show my daughters the spirit of giving. We are a family of 4. The past year has brought many changes, as we had our 2nd daughter, moved from NYC to the NJ ‘burbs in to our first home. My husband and I both commute to NYC and the days can be long and hard with little reward at the end of the day when we are tired and cranky and can’t give to our kids what we would like to. I want to inspire kindness and generosity in my girls, so I would love for them to receive this basket so we can choose charities to give the items away to, to show them how wonderful it feels to GIVE! Thanks :)

  58. Darcie K says:

I am a 32 year old single mother of a beautiful little girl. Two years ago, I was diagnosed with advanced stage breast cancer. I was unemployed at the time of diagnosis and still do not have health insurance. Luckily, I qualified for Social Security Disability, however the majority of my money goes to ongoing health care costs. I am afraid that I won’t be able to provide my daughter with a Christmas. This would really make a huge impact in our lives.

  59. betsy says:

I would like to nominate my frien Lesa who is a wonderful mother and person. She is a single mom to a two year old and two adopeted boys. She truly deserves to recognized for all that she does.

  60. April Kofler says:

I would like to nominate a family in our church. They are always there to help others. This year they fell on some hard ship and lost their home. Son had to have surgery and was in the Standford Children’s hospital a few weeks at a time.
Mom had skin cancer last year and problems with her health, Dad hurt his back and it effected his job with the pain he was in. They have four little kids and I think it would be great to be able to give them a wonderful Chritmas.

  61. Renee says:

I’m nominating my sister, Elaine. While having residual health issues from a brain tumor, she parents two special-needs children, including a daughter with Down Syndrome. Sadly, her husband has been out of work for nearly 2 years, and the family survives on her part-time job. She’s very deserving!

  62. Patricia Forbes says:

I would like to nominate our family as we continuously help others even though we are low income. We are more than happy to bring homeless teens into our home, give needy clothing,a hot meal, etc.Our son and his girlfriend are having a baby in Feb.There is 6 adults living in our home eright now.My husband and I lost our oldest daughter from MLD.I am now taking care of my 2nd youngest sister whom also suffers from this debilitating disease. We really could use this prize to have possibly one last Christmas with her that is great. She has spent much time in the hospital and not been with family at this time of year.

  63. Kristina Mclain says:

I would like to nominate my best friends sister. My best friend passed away December 9, 2009 and her sister is taking care of her 2 kids on top of the 4 she already has. This has been a very hard year for this family and being that right before Christmas will be the one year mark of there mothers death. I would love for them to have a the best Christmas this time could allow for them.

My friend Jana has a heart of gold. She pays it forward. Life hasn’t been easy, but her smile and willingness to give to others unconditionally sets a great example for her children and everyone.

  65. Michelle Champagne says:

At age 20, I met a wonderful man who was raising his 2 year old daughter by himself. We weren’t together long, but I moved in with him to help pay for her to attend daycare while he paid off medical bills he had incurred from trying to help his ex-wife get off of drugs (she didn’t, and moved out of the state, abandoning her 2 daughters)I am now 23 and I’d be lying if I said the past three years were easy. I’d love to give her a wonderful Christmas gift this year.

  66. Molly says:

I would like to nominate my cousin Nikki and her family. They are a blended family with 6 kids, a full time working mom and a dad who also is a Captain/Company Commander in the Army who will be deployed for a year right after Christmas. Nikki will be running the household taking care of all the kids and working.

  67. Kerri says:

I think all of us are deserving, it will be hard for you Babble! We are all trying to do our best, regardless of income or home situation. I nominate my family, since we lost our first child last year, financially bankrupted ourselves to get twins, and now are on one income and the babies would love it!

  68. Lynette Dill says:

I would like to nominate my family.I am a 22 year old single mother of three young children under five and also six months pregnant. As a young mother tryin to provide its very hard and I love my children so much I try to give them everything I can. My mom does help me but she getting sick with her illness she won’t be here longer and also my younger brother died. I lost a part of me but god blessed me with the children he wanted and couldn’t have. So now I look at my children and I just want them to be happy and know that I will never let them down no matter what.

  69. Michelle says:

I know there are a lot of others who deserve it more but we are a family of 4 trying to make it on 1 small income. We pinch pennies as much as we can but could always use help.

  70. Noah says:

More than 3 years, tens of thousands of dollars, several thousand to a federally-indicted agency, heartache and an attempted extortion later, we brought our son home from Ethiopia this summer. With all the money we spent to get him home, we are unable to give him the Christmas he deserves.

  71. Christi says:

I would love to nominate my family for this. I have raised our 2 toddler daughters while pregnant with my 3rd and finishing up college while my spouse was deployed. I graduated with a 4.0 and highest honors and along with everything that Ive had to do to keep our home and family together- I have also been an organizer for a local MOMS group here in town (Kids at Play on meetup.com) which allows other moms in the area to find out about area events and have both adult interaction and find other children for theirs to interact with.

  72. Chrystal W says:

I would love to nomnate my family for this. Between me being umemployed and my boyfriend working to make ends meet, Christmas may be a little harder for my son this year. He does understand that Christmas is not about getting, but he’s been a good boy, so he deserves to get something:)

  73. darla rand says:

i would love to nominate my family for this. i had to have surgery this year and with that i ended up getting pregnant, (which is the best gift i could get), but with me not able to work that much because i’m high risk its gonna be hard, but we have 4 other children who won’t be getting a good Christmas. they deserve to have a good one. thank you.

  74. Ric says:

I would like to nominate Alana Oldfield, my partner. Alana has taken it upon herself this year to compete her GED and has passed with flying colors while looking after 3 kids under 5. We have had big changes in our household with me losing my job and having to scrounge for work Alana is taking steps to look after our family financially.

  75. Laura Burdette says:

I would like to nominate my family. I have 4 beautiful kids. Their father and I have it real hard around X-Mas. This year especially. This year he has been laid off since September. Along with X-Mas we celebrate 2 birthdays one on the 11th and one on 26th. It’s hard to make all kids happy.

  76. Mary Branham says:

I would like to nominate my sister Paulette Uselton. She has asthma bad and is on oxygen 24/7 and just found out she has diabetes. She has been a single mom most of her life. She has tried hard to provide for her kids and now she has grandkids and the whole family could benefit from this prize. She is always trying to finds ways to buy xmas and birthday gifts for kids and grandkids since she is on disablility. Whe are lucky to have her around for another year. This has been an extremely hard year for her. Thanks for listening to my nomination.

  77. Ryan Woodbury says:

I would love to win this basket, but not for my family. My office is currently collecting toys for the Marine Toys for Tots program in Charlottesville, Virginia – and your generous basket would be a perfect addition to our donation (really it would be YOUR donation)! This way, many families would benefit from your generosity. Thank you for your consideration.

  78. Dr. Jay says:

I would like to nominate a young lady I know (Erin) who is a single mother. Her older daughter is almost 3, and her son was born at 24 weeks, weighing just over 1 pound. The father of the children left her because he couldn’t handle the situation with the baby (still in NICU). Mom is a hard worker and trying her best to make a life for her family.

  79. denise johnson says:

I would like to nominate my family i have 4 grandkids and im not able right now to do anything for them i been off work with a knee injury thanks for listening .

  80. kara marie dean-assael says:

hello! what a great gift! i would love to nominate my family but will share the gifts with my neices and nephews (all of which are biological and non-biologically related!)
i would like to nominate my family and friends as we love to give and have fun and this gift seems like the best way to do both! thank you and happy holidays!

  81. Judith says:

I would like to nominate my family. I have a 9 month old named Jaden and
I wish I could buy him all the toys in the world but it’s been a rough year for my husband and I. Our wish would be to have an unforgetful first Christmas with Jaden.

  82. BooBearsMommy says:

I would like to nominate my family. Like most this year we have struggled with job loss and financial struggles. We have also struggled with cardiac and developmental delays. It makes it hard to afford Christmas this year. There are so may deserving families here who need a Christmas miracle, thank you for offering this opportunity.

  83. emily ballard says:

I would like to nominate my family. My husband and I are very young parents and we are trying to do the best we can. He works for minimum wage and we aren’t sure if we can give my little girl a good christmas. It would be a blessing to us. :)

  84. Susan Ricketts says:

I would like to nominate my brother, Paul Kriwanek. He changed his hours at work to be home with his daughters during the day. His wife works full time but they are really going through a tough time financially. On top of that they have just let another couple move in with them so they can help them out for a few months. Paul and his wife have real caring hearts and their kids would greatly appreciate this gift basket!

  85. Cindy Tse says:

Thank You Babble. I am so Thankful and Gifted to have a beautiful 4 years old girl after 6 years of trying. I like to give my gift basket to the Children Hospital…Happy Thanksgiving.

  86. Patricia Lea says:

I would like to nominate ummzak who posted above on 11/16. Going through an abusive relationship is one of the hardest things you can live through (I know from past experience) and the fact that she’s trying to make it on her own now with a child shows amazing strength. Good for you for choosing to leave your abuser to make a better life for your baby!

  87. Patricia says:

I nominate my friend. On Hallowe’en weekend, an arsonist set a fire that sent her family fleeing their home in just their pyjamas. Luckily, they got out unharmed, but lost everything. They’re trying to start over, but their kids are having a hard time. If I could give this family a special Christmas, maybe it would give them a sense of normalcy again. Can you help?

  88. Noheilani Tauaefa says:

I would like to nominate my family for the perserverence and patience that we have endured through some unimaginable trials. For 3 years we were living in a 12 by 12 room, due to a small amount of income. I couldnt depend on my husband because he broke his ankle at work and could not work for a year and a half. There was no kitchen, so we used portable stoves to prepare our meals. There was just a tiny bathroom. We used inflatable beds and camping gear to deal with the size of space we had. There wasn’t much kids in the building, becauase most of our neighbors were either ex drug addicts or homeless people that had enough income to get off the streets. Wasn’t quite a normal environment for our kids but my kids never complained nor looked down on themselves. We always taught our kids that we have so much more to be thankful for, and that there were people out there that were in much more tougher situations. They never once complained or was ashamed, but at the same time I knew there were times them seeing other kids have more meant something to them. Now we live in a 2bdrm apartment with much more space than we could ever dream of having, with a kitchen and a very spacious bathroom and that to us is so much more than what we had dreamed of. We have strived and struggled through hardship and the most unimaginable trials you could think of. Receiving this Christmas gift would show us that even through the toughest times there is alot of hope and happiness.

  89. Wendi Leigh says:

My mother, a single parent, somehow made Christmas magical for my brother & I. Now grown, we visit the Giving-Tree every year, making Christmas magical for another child. This year, we can’t continue our tradition; I was laid off recently & bills aren’t being met. This could help many children.

  90. Shirley Armatis says:

I am a single mom of 7 children and I would love to win this prize for my children I think they would love it.

  91. Whitney Ramirez says:

I would like to nominate my mother who does nothing but help other people than herself. She has been unemployed and looking for a job for four years and still finds ways to help other people out and myself. I’m five months pregnant and she’s done nothing but help me out and put me first before herself. And she never has had anything ever because she gives it up.

  92. Christine says:

As much as I love all these comments by people, I think those that deserve it most don’t have access to a computer to nominate themselves. Tis the season for giving – not receiving. We live in such a “me” society. Every single one of these toys should be donated to those that can’t afford toys or for that matter can’t afford to eat. What a smile it would bring to their face to receive such a gift as a brand new toy!

  93. Heather says:

I would like to nominate my family. My husband and I have three beautiful children. I went back to school after being let go from my job last year. We were doing ok until my husband was hospitalized for complications with his Myasthenia Gravis disease. Without his income I am forced to quit school and get a job to keep food on the table. Winning this gift from babble would elevate much holiday stress and give my children the Christmas they deserve.

  94. phyllis perkins says:

I would like to win because I have 8 grand kids and want to give them all wonderful things, like you have, and I have been a Realtor this last year and It has been a tough year for Realtors.

  95. cristi combs says:

Hello my name is cristi. I would like to nominate my family. We have had a rough year.I found out March 23,2010 I was pregnant even though I was told I would have to have help getting pregnant,I have. A 17 year old son that is my miracle, then I got pregnant and lost my baby in April. It’s the hardest thing I have ever been thru.I am looking for a job and haven’t found one yet I just want my family to have a christmas. It would mean the world to my Family
    Thank you for. Ur consideration.
Give simone] hug from our family

  96. connie moore says:

could give a lot of reasons …Let’s say my life been tough for a fews yrs…just makes me think this would bea memorable Christmas…..it just seems perfect for me to like to think of how much fun….the grandkids faces would glow…I say…me

  97. liz hartpence says:

I would like to nominate my family because it’s been really hard financially for us. My mom is a single mom and i am pregnant so we are both just trying to make it through day by day. It would be a miracle to have a great christmast and even be able to share it with some of our close friends.

  98. Carol Donnermeyer says:

I am nominating my disabled widowed daughter. She has had very difficult year health wise and is waiting for SSI to rule her disabled. Her twin six year old daughters need to have a nice Holiday. Losing their father has been very hard for them.

  99. Sarah says:

At 60, my mom and dad are both still working long hours to make ends meet. I know they’d love to buy nice things for the grandkids, nieces and nephews, and it’s hard on them that they can’t give much. This would lift a burden on two very giving people!

  100. Suzanne says:

I am nominating a friend of mine who has 8 kids, they live off one income, they jsut moved into a house that is over 100 years old and requires a lot of work, but it is all they could afford. They are great people and have a lot of love to give, just not a lot of money for christmas on their budget, putting warm clothes on their kids back and food on the table is more important to them than gift. This would mean the world to them. They were all living with friends 19 people in 900sq ft house for over a year. They deserve a break.

  101. Rebecca Baty says:

My mother, Joann, we lost our dad a little over a year and she disabled. She had been with my dad since she was 13 yrs old and is now 56 yrs old. No life insurance and she struggles now in all senses. She has always helped everyone and now needs help. She took in my sister, niece, and 2 nephews. Also took in 2 of my underaged cousins when their mother died and had noone else. She has always taken in kids even non-family members that needed help and had no place to stay. She can’t afford presents this year at all for any of children. It would be nice to see someone be able to help her out for a change in her time of need sorta like a giving back to those who have always helped others.

  102. Jake Yates says:

My good friend who is one above somewhere, lost her husband due to suicide this year. She cannot work due to medical issues and has a young daughter who is surrounded by love, but not a single present this year. She will always help others before herself even when she cannot afford to do so. This would allow my friend to not worry about the Holidays and take care of her health, as well as give her child a wonderful end to a sad year. Thank you.

  103. RHELINILE B. CALVENDRA says:

I would like to nominate may sister Roselle because she is a single mom and badly in need to raise his newborn baby girl named Candice. She deserves to be happy this coming christmas because she’s nice and determined to raise his daughter on her own. It’s so hard to be a single parent because no one is there for her to support their needs. It mould be a great help for her and her daughter if she won this prize.

  104. Courtney Naegele says:

I nominate our family, The Naegele family. We are providing for our 4 yr old special needs daughter, our almost 2 yr old daughter, expecting our third child. My mother moved in with us because of her health. This would be more than just upbeat, it would make our Christmas!

  105. Kris Schillaci says:

Would love to nominate my family:I have three wonderful kids, two girls 16 & 10 and a 12 yr old son. It has been a rough year and my 16yr.old has medical issues which requires me to be home to run her IV’s. I would love to see them have a special Christmas!

  106. Melissa Taylor says:

I never knew how strong my friend, Lori, could be until recently. From her husband’s initial esophageal cancer diagnosis, to spread of the cancer, to the emergency hospital stays, she’s stayed hopeful and yet, realistic, all the while taking care of her young boys, 2 and 5.

  107. Kayla Wardlow says:

I would like to nominate my sister. She is a single mother to a 6month old little girl. She works very part time and is currently attending classes to get her GED so she can continue her education. My sister is always very dedicated to taking care of everyone around her, she lives at home with our mom so she can help take care of our sister who has Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome. She dropped out of school to take care of her, and has put her life on hold for 5 years to make sure she was ALWAYS taken care of, putting our sister before herself at times. She now has a baby, and is still trying to take care of everyone including her new baby. She has so much drive in her and it would be amazing for her to get something back for all she gives.

  108. Suzanne Faulkner says:

I am a hard working, and tired ER nurse. I am also a single parent of 2 great children. They already know that mommy doesn’t have very much money for xmas but they said “it’s ok mom”. I nominate my kids because they are so loving.

  109. Jada Norfleet says:

I nominate my family because since my husband was laid off we have been struggling to keep ourselves from getting into more debt, I am disabled we have not been able to get our kids anything for there birthdays but I hope that we can get them something for Christmas

  110. Linda Q. says:

My brother, Rob, struggles to keep a home for his wife, daughter, and 2 grandsons. Financial tragedy caused loss of house, spouse lost her job and the decline in industry he works in leaves little money left for Christmas. Always has chin up on the outside while crying inside.

  111. Jill L says:

So many deserving families already. I’m not sure if we are the most deserving or not, but I know this would really help. We have had a few really hard years. We had to move out of state due to the economic situation in our state. Our family was split apart for 8 months while my husband worked away from us trying to support us. Finally we were able to join him, but we are certainly in the hole. It took a year to sell our house and we lost tens of thousands on it. We had to take the money out of our 401K to pay it off. Things have been so tight for so long. It’s going to be quite awhile before we are finally on our feet again. I have to say, it’s probably been good for us. We’ve learned to appreciate the simple things in life. My kids enjoy just spending time as a family. They don’t even know about the latest toys because we don’t have all the stations that advertise them. Winning this would be like Santa really came to our house.

  112. Happi Shopr says:

I would like to nominate our family. We lost my dad this October 29th to colon cancer. No holiday or any day will ever be the same without him. Times were tough financially to begin with and now the kiddos in the family have lost their Papa. I know the kids would each pick one toy and donate to the Angel Tree in Papa’s honor so it would be a win for many families. And a merrier Christmas than we can see right now.

  113. MJ says:

I would like to nominate my sister-in-law’s family. They have two autistic kids- one has a serious health issue that has caused him to be hospitalized 250 miles from home. The family has been living at the hospital for weeks, (without income) with no end in sight. They can’t give any thought or resources to the holidays, they could lose their house over this. So please pick them!

  114. Paige says:

I nominate my sister and her family. Earlier this year they lost their 4 and 7 year old to the state for 6 months due to a misdiagnosed health issue with their son. Only through her persistence in having another doctor see her son was she able to get an urgent, life-saving surgery for him and their return home. Both parents are struggling to find full time employment — as hard as they try — and have no means to buy gifts for their children. I’d love to see those little faces light up on Christmas day after such a terrible year of pain and loss.

  115. Alicia says:

I would like to nominate my family. We are a family of 7, and currently monsy alittle tight do to me trying to go back to school for nursing. My hubby works alot but theres not alot of extras after the regular stuff for a family of 7. The gift basket would really in sure us to have a better christmas without worries..THank you

  116. Marty Harper says:

My sister is in need this holiday. She is super mom to three wild boys under the age of 5! She gets them to church, bakes homemade yummies for school functions, plays with them 24/7 and she is my inspiration most days!!! We lost our dad in June and she is particularly having a hard time with it. On top of that, her husband serves in the military and times are tough, financially. She started sewing adorable sock monkeys to earn some extra $$, but time is her enemy [again, the three boys thing]! She is hecca stressed and I want my nephews to have a super holiday…She feels like a charity case when I send her money or clothes, but really its the least I can do with her family committing to our country like that.

  117. Cassandra Lavandier says:

I would like to nominate my boyfriend Brandon and our child. We are expecting our first child together and he is the best in the world. He has 2 jobs and is planning our whole lives together so we can have the best for our child’s future. He works during the evening and also does over-night shifts after his first job. so he basically works from 12pm- 6am most of the week. If I were in his situation I would be constantly complaining but he never does. He goes to work with a smile on his face and returns with one. He has been saving up for the baby and for our apartment. He has put college aside so he can work 2 jobs and care for our child and I. This gift basket would definately benefit them as they bond together after our child is born. Thank You :]

  118. Oliver@Fiver says:

I nominate the Levines. Monique & John recently relocated their 11 children from the Bronx to Pennsylvania to afford their children more room to grow safely & happily. Monique commutes 2 hours to provide for them but the move and a recent vehicle impoundment has placed considerable strain on them.

  119. Laura D says:

I would like to nominate my classroom family. I have thirty seven wonderful students that come from an impoverished area. Many of their families are struggling. What a great Christmas it would be to share gifts with my “extended family.”

  120. Heather Martin says:

I nominate my family because I am also a single mother and my daughter has a father who moved out of state just to get away from us. I have since then moved in with my parents. And they are struggling for money, and they help me raise my one year old. I would love this gift because it would help ease my parents mind about money and so they don’t have to worry about losing their house because of buying my daughter christmas presents. I have some income but not alot and i rely on my parents.

  121. Theresa H says:

I am going to nominate myself. While we have never done more than gotten by at Christmas time the last few years have been extremely hard (as in no job for 2 years and now only working part time at a minimum wage job). This year we lost our house to foreclosure so we moved in 2 different directions so that it would be easier to afford things. I hate that I have never given my children(or the rest of my family) a Christmas that was full of gift wants not what was needed.

  122. Stephanie V. says:

Nominating my family as well. I am currently fighting cancer. Surgery last month and in preparation right now for radiation treatments during the holidays. Off my meds and on special diet so exhausted all the time and once take the radioactive iodine will be in isolation from my 3 kids for two weeks. How do you explain to a 3 year old you can’t hug or kiss them for 3 weeks? Just horrible! This cancer has devasted us emotionally and financially. We have had tough financial years in the past but at least I could use cuddles for lots of year. This year nada! I know, must have faith. I am trying . . .

  123. Chris N says:

I know this sounds selfish, but I nominate me. I work in retail management and this time of year, I could really use a treat. It help me ensure that my customers get what they need for the holiday season.

  124. Marco Dominguez says:

    She’s had J.R.A. since 3
Some days she can’t get out of bed
    That’s not the story
    She advocates for patients
she sets up websites and runs a mom’s coupon blog
    She’s the mother of 2
She does it with 1 hand and a pointer finger,
    4 less then you
    That’s the story.

  126. sarah b says:

I nominate my own family because my husband works SO hard, full time school, full time work in a warehouse. I work for a nonprofit. So between the two of us, the bills dont even get paid. I would only give some of the toys to my boys but would share with other families that i know are also struggling.

  127. Amanda G says:

So many deserving families and children… I would love to nominate my husband. Like many, we struggle day by day financially. My husband works 2 jobs while being a dedicated father. He deserves so much because he really tries to do so much for everyone else. If you asked he would literally give you the shirt off his back just because you like it. After being hospitalized with chest pain, he want right back to work so he wouldn’t lose his job. I would love to have a way to show him he deserves the world and how thankful I am for him. Everything he has been through has made him a stronger person.

  128. Shanda J says:

This year we are struggling more than usual financially. My husband got a transplant almost a year ago and is still struggling with multiple daily insulin shots and constant fatigue which limits his activity. I am working from home and pregnant and due to the economy, my job has lowered the number of projects we are working which equals less income. My son was also recently diagnosed with autism and we have been working vigorously with therapists and scheduling treatments and testing. I am overwhelmed to say the least and this would really help our family.

  129. clarissa says:

my friend Cassie has been through a lot in the past couple of years. She had a couple rough pregnancies nearly losing both children. She was diagnosed with a blood clotting disorder. Her husband’s business partner robbed the business and left them with a bunch of debt. She then found out she had thyroid cancer. Recently she started hemorraging from her bladder than uterus. They are testing now and believe she has bladder and uterine cancer and also something seems wrong on her cervix. Thats a lot for a few short years!

  130. evelyn says:

I like Babble on Facebook. This would make my sons very happy. I would love to give them all these gifts. On my own it just can’t happen. It’s been a tough year financially and being solely the one giving my boys gifts I will do the best I can. If I win I will be so happy and grateful. The kids would just be ecstatic.

  131. Cindy R says:

I nominate my family. I have a 1 year old daughter with a congenital heart defect and she had open heart surgery at 3 months old. We have custody of my 3 nieces and nephew, we get no help from their parents. This would be the only way they would have a Merry Christmas.

  132. Marti Gonzalez says:

I want to nominate my family. My son has a heart defect and just spent 14 out of 17 months in the hospital having 12 total surgeries and 3 open heart, he just came home and is on a ventilator. My daughter has been so brave while I was with her brother and dad has lost 5 jobs because of needing to by his side. We have lost everything including foreclosed on our house 2 weeks ago. All I want is my children to have a great Christmas and not be in the hospital

  133. Vicky carpenter says:

I would like to nominate my daughter and her husband. The past year has been very difficult for them. After giving birth to a healthy daughter she has had health problems since the birth. She is in a lot of pain daily because of a problem with her pelvis from the birthing process. Unable to work and her husband going to school and trying to find part time work has been a awful burden. Needless to say I never thought I would see one of my children have to ask for outside help. What was a happy occasion has been so hard felt by the. They don’t complain and have tried to get through this but, it is really been trying on them and they are at their breaking point. All I want for XMAS is to see them have a nice day for themselves and my Grand Daughter. This would be such a blessing for them. Then just this past week they had a awful scare when the little one got bitten by a dog on the face and had to go to emergency. I just can not understand how one small family can have such crumby luck. This would be the greatest gift I cooed ever have seeing them have this for themselves. THANKS

  134. Kellie Goodrum says:

I would like to nominate my husband! He has worked for years and this year we were hit by the unemployement line *the both of us*! My husband just got a job only on his third of work, he was hit by a car and is now unable to work. He is upset that there will be no christmas this year due to the unemployment, he does not bring in Disability. We pray for a Christmas for our four children. We could really use it this year.

  135. StarLae Hein says:

I am nominating my family. I am a stay at home mommy. My family lives on one income because i have to stay home with my daughter, she was born with a sever heart defect. It has been rough for us. But we will be sharing this if we win with three fellow heart families who have lost their CHD heros this year. The four of us mommies have been through thick and thin together.
    Thanks

  136. sammie silliboy says:

after 11 years of marriage I am now a single mom to a special needs child and my only income is child support. I had to leave my husband and move from a nice big city with lots of help to a small rural area that isn;t where I imagined raising my child. I have to drive over half an hour every week for physical and occupational therapy for him.. we still see specialists out of state as well. We could really use a little holiday cheer. <3

  137. Brenda says:

I am nominating my self so i can share it with my husband which has been ill since July it would hopefully cheer hin up.We are retired and it would help we do not have a very good retirement income.

  138. Gena Morris says:

I would like to nominate my friend from Church. She is a single mom to 3 kids and struggling to raise her children alone. She has already sacrificed a lot for them and continues to.

  139. Britt says:

I would like to nominate my family. It has been a rough year for us as our youngest daughter was born in january with a severe heart problem and spent several months at childrens hospital, undergoing surgeries, testing, and procedures. Meanwhile or 2 older kids had to bounce around between relatives while mom and dad were living at the hospital. We have more hospital stays ahead of us and could really use a good christmas all together as a family.

  140. Crystal says:

I am nominating my family. My husband lost his job dues to incredibly dishonest people in his previous company. We are trying to start our own company geared towards children’s educational products and hope to use profits from this business to help out inner-city children through a foundation we are setting up. It’s a tight Christmas as everything we’ve saved is being poured into the business and to cover all living expenses. Would be nice to take a break and enjoy something for a short while! :)

  141. sweeter the berry says:

I nominate my own family. I am a single mom who is down on luck. I have a child who has been suffering with epilepsy and autism. I have another child with asthma and another who has bronchitis. I am working my way through college on a very low budget and we deserve a break.

  142. Rebekah Canonico says:

I nominate my friend H. and her three beautiful kids. She is a single mom who works as a waitress to support her family. She is going through a divorce and her ex-husband does not help their family. I know this prize would be a tremendous blessing to her and her children.

  143. carmen turner says:

I would like to nominate a Grandmother who is taking care of her eight grandchildren by herself. She does not receive any state support and has no other family members to help as her husband died last year. The children range in age of 16 years old to first grade. This is a very deserving family that does not ask for anything. I know that a lot of people in need this year but I would like to make this a special Christmas for these children as they will not get to see their parents and they do not have anything.

  144. Jessica says:

I nominate my friend, Christine, and her family. She and her husband spent 10 years caring for abused and abandoned children, then moved to the countryside to care for her aging parents. She has two wonderful children but suffered the loss of her twin girls when 5 months pregnant. Her husband’s pay was cut so she started a home daycare to earn extra income despite her fibromyalgia. She keeps her faith, tirelessly improves her daycare and her family life, and is a generous and caring friend. This gift will benefit her family and her daycare children who also have struggling parents because of the economy.

  145. Donna says:

I would like to nominate my neighbor and best friend. Her 3 year old daughter has a degenerative terminal disease who the doctors can not identify and in the recent weeks has begun using a gait trainer and leg braces for day and night use. She is unemployed and unable to gain work because of her daughter’s needs and her own Chrohns Disease. Please help this family.

  146. Tami says:

When I clicked on this contest and read the rules, I thought to myself about a family meeting your specs. I could not think of a single person in need, and feel so fortunate for all the gifts in my life. I then thought about The Carpenter’s Shelter–A family shelter in Alexandria, VA helping homeless families transition to housing. This would give an entire shelter a Christmas to remember.

  147. Jacob says:

I would have to nominate a family I know that have a 2 year old chilc. They work very hard as both parents have jobs and the father is attending school at night to get educated. They also both work together on weekends at another job to help make ends meet. And they have a second child on the way and could use the help this Christmas!

  148. Karen F. says:

I would suggest this prize be given to a charity, split between many charities, so many out there struggling, truly needing help to make the holidays a lil brighter for those in their respective communities. I believe wholeheartedly that this would better serve those in shelters, on the streets. So many children and families living in their cars fighting day to day trying to figure out where their next meal will come from. They deserve it more than I would ever assume to.

  149. Sissel Heide says:

Our family would love this gift basket; we are having another tough year. After living through many financial and employment stumbles we are making our way through and trudging forward with faith and a little luck.

  150. Rachel says:

I nominate my friend who is a single mother of triplets. Her son was recently diagnosed with Asperger’s. She is such a kind person and would anything for anyone despite her tough circumstances. I would love for her not to worry about trying to provide gifts for Christmas this year!

  151. Stacy S says:

I believe all who enter this contest deserves to win, especially with this economy! Some are are more unfortunate than others. A little help goes a long way! I would nominate this to my family. Although I am happy to say this year has been better for us than the last 2 years. My BF was unemployed for 2 years, I am a stay home mom of 3, both of us had tried looking for work with no luck. Until a couple months ago my BF found a job. We are grateful but still struggling trying to catch up after 2 years of no work. I would love to give my family a better Christmas than the previous years! I wish the best of luck to who wins this great giveaway! And pray for all of those who have been struggling!

  152. Andrea says:

This would mean alot to my family, especially my son. He’s been dealing with health problems this year, and the expenses that came with his problems mean that not only has he had a painful and scary year, but that he also will be getting almost no gifts for Christmas.

  153. Shannon says:

I would like to nominate my nephew. He lives with his mom, and visits his dad often. He recently had to repeat a grade in school, his mom got remarried, had a baby. He has been through a lot!

  154. Jennifer says:

My son Hunter got diagnosed with a stuttering disorder in fall of 09. Since then, talking has become challenging at times. Thanks to therapy he has improved. His preschool teacher told us at conferences that he mentors another boy with similar problems.

  155. Tami says:

I nominate the current homeless families living at the The Carpenter’s Shelter of Alexandria,Virginia. They are truly families in need.

  156. Jenny says:

There are so many families who deserve a gift like this. I am nominating mine because, although our seven children understand when we cannot buy them a load of gifts, they have worked hard volunteering to help struggling families in our neighborhood with food and clothing. My husband and I were both recently laid off, but we started a family center and diaper bank with our own funds, enlisted volunteers and community support, and have been trying to be encouraging in these tough times. Our children see this and are supportive, and I wish they could be rewarded for their patience and hard work with a gift such as this. We were voted parents of the year, but we barely have enough to pay bills. We are still blessed to be able to share our resources with others: toys are not on the priority list. It’ll be hard to explain that to our youngest ones, however. Please consider granting this wish. Thank you so much!

  157. sommer says:

I nominate my mom and her 3 kids along with my 3 kids. The 8 of us live together in a 2 bedroom right now and we some how manage to make it work. My mom has been out of work for a few months and I had my daughter in April and have not been able to find another job yet. Their father left and is now incarserated. If anything good could happen this year for these kids, it would be miracle. The kids ages are 16, 14, 12, 10, 5, and my newest is 7 months. We have all been through a lot this past year and could really use the help to make this Christmas a little brighter. We are not homeless thanks to my grandmother… so for that we are so grateful. Sometimes it’s hard for the kids to see the positive when the chips are down. My grandmother also helps us out when she can, if there were a prize more for her age, I would nominate her for that! She deserves a gift…
    Thanks and best wishes.

  158. Dawn Lanzante says:

I would like to nominate a family .I have a mother inlaw who worked her whole life raising her 3 children by herself with no help and as a diabetic herself & with 1 diabetic child & over the past 2 yrs she has been unable to work due to the fact that she has had a multitude of heart problems and surgeries she has spent her whole life caring for others & truely is an aww inspiring soul .I would love it if she saw the true love & kindness of others returned to her for once. 161. Christina M says:

I’m thankful for what my daughter and I have: a modest home, loving family, and caring hearts. As a single parent and a Special Education Pre-school Teacher, I give a lot and ask for little, but it’s nice to imagine what we could do for ourselves with this prize.

  162. Mary says:

I’d like to nominate my family. Though we’re really thankful for all life has blessed us with, it’s been a difficult year. My husband lost his job only after we found out we were pregnant with our second. I was working full time, caring for our 3 yr old and my live-in 95 year old father with beginning stages of alzheimers while my husband looked for work. Unfortunately, I miscarried. Though it was hard, my husband was very supportive and patient and helped care for my father through it all. After some trying , we have been blessed with a second child now and my husband is working again since I’m at home caring for our infant, but recently we lost our second car, making it difficult to transport and care for my father while my husband works. I would love to be able to give my family the Christmas they deserve for all the selfless sacrifices they have made for others. Thanks.

  163. Phillip Cunningham says:

I nominate my family as my son Marcus is developmentally delayed and it’s been really hard for my wife and I as we bring him up and try to give him a better quality of life than is usually the case with children like him. A prize like this will really do wonders in his development and social skills.

  164. Rachel says:

I nominate my friend Ally’s family. They really have been through a lot this year with illness in both their kids. Through it all they have been so generous with their time, friendship and support, in spite of all they are dealing with. I hope that the new year brings calm and peace to them!

  165. Kristen Jeffery says:

My husband just got out of the Army and has not found work yet. He served during two war times. Now we have 2 kids and a new baby. It hurts him that he cannot provide Christmas for them. I would love to take that hurt away.

  166. Ashley Moore says:

I would like to nominate the Ellenburg family. They have 2 young boys and his wife just passed away from breast cancer. She fought so hard and refused to take any treatment because of the side effects. I don’t know how they are going to make it through this Christmas but I know this might help.

  167. Danielle says:

I want to nominate my sister. After fleeing from an abusive marriage a couple years ago, she has always strived to make the holidays something suitable for her children. She truly deserves it!

  168. Delia says:

I nominate my parents and my nieces and nephew. My brother lives with my parents and they have been through quite a bit with this situation. Most recently they are struggling financially because my brother is making little money trying to start his own business and on top of that they are fighting a custody battle with kids mom.

  169. Marlene Waechter says:

I am a midwife who serves the Amish and other poor rural Appalachian families. My dh & I are both self-employed, never earning enough to afford insurance, but not qualifying for welfare either. We have been in debt since our 5th child (out of 7) was in NICU for 8 days, 23 yr ago. I’m not asking anything for our family, just explaining why we don’t have the $ to help others ourselves. I have several Amish families with handicapped children, One has 4 handicapped & 3 normal, another has one handicapped & 6 normal, another just had her 2nd set of twins, for a total of 13 children, the oldest of which is only 14! Another Mennonite client has 10 children, and now has heart problems, so she can’t do as much as she used to, but even with all her problems & a large family to care for, she is always doing something for her neighbors or other church members. If I were to win, I would want not toys or clothes, but food, a new wheelchair for a growing boy, or two, and plain material to make new clothes with. It would be spread out amongst the many poor Amish & Mennonite families in southern OH. (yes, I realize not all Amish are poor, but these are!)

  170. Courtney says:

Like many I am jobless because of the economy and it is really hard on me and my son because I cant always provide food. I am on wic,but he eats and drinks so much. He is only 15 months, but I would love to get him at least one thing for Christmas. I am also a single parent and his dad never comes to see him.

  171. liz says:

i would like to nominate my friend jessica, whose husband decided that with the birth of their twins, he was overwhelmed and left her. she has an 8 year old and 8 month old twins. last week, they were in a terrible car accident. her foot was shattered and she will be out of work as a psych nurse for 4-6 months. one of her twins is in a spica cast, and her other twin and 8 year old were also injured. while things were tough before, it is suddenly looking like a tough holiday, and they could use the joy this giveaway would bring.

  172. Dawn Marie Cooper says:

I Nominate Deloris M from church,She is a grandmother who adopted her 3 abused grandchildren. She receives only her welfare check and has nothing to give to the kids. I purchased school clothes, hygiene products for them because there is no money. The kids have never had a Christmas

  173. Rena says:

I nominate my sister Anna. She gives so much of herself and never asks for anything back. If she has only 10 dollars she would give 9 of it away. She frequently goes to Mexico to give the orphans help the orphans and children with medical care.

  174. Ashley says:

I would like to nominate my friend Brittany. Brittany and her husband (and their three boys) have actively, and selflessly, helped the community including advocating for “residents” of skid row, fostering children, and active participation with our church. I, and many others, would be lost without them.

  175. stephen thomas says:

my mum because shes put up with me singing dolly parton songs at karaoke i sound exactly like her too embarrassing because im a construction worker

  176. Reeva says:

I nominate a young single mother that I know. She’s done all the right things, college, a job, trying to keep a positive attitude for her child, but she never seems to catch a break. I’d love for her to win.

  177. Laura says:

I thought we had to nominate a family other than ours.

  178. Puja says:

Nominating my family, we have come from having it all and then some to not much at all. My son came in latter phase, we do our best to buy him toys but it somehow falls short. Would love this chance to get and give/share with family n friends

  179. Cory Maronay says:

I nominate my best friend ~ she is a stay at home mom of 2 beautiful girls, has multiple immune disorders and yet always maintains a cheery disposition. If it wasnt for her I dont know who id turn to for my fun and entertainment. even with everything going on in her life I know she always makes time for me and I am thankful for her. thank you

  180. Gillianne says:

Id like to nominate the father of mt bautiful girls. he works hard all day long and then comes home and makes dinner, plays with the kids, reads and tucks them in at night and even changes diapers. I am the luckiest woman in the world and Id like to thank him for all of his hard work!

  181. Danielle says:

I would love to nominate the Miller Family. We know them through a church group and they are a truly wonderful family. Mom voulnteers in everything from school and church functons to babysitting neighbors. Dad works full time as middle school special education teacher. They love their son and spend all of their remaining time and money with him. This would be a blessing for their family.

  182. Thuong Pham says:

I would like to nominate my brother, Tho Pham. He is a single dad, working to support him and his 4 year old daughter. She is missing the love of a mother, but me and my sisters try to be there for her, but of course, we can never replace a mother’s love. He and his daughter deserves the best holiday and this gift would mean a lot to them. They would also share this with other kids (cousins) in the family as they all love playing together.

  183. Cynthia Z says:

I would like to nominate all the families I see around our small town, there are so many here that barely can put food on their tables what a hard choice to have to make. I nominate the Moriarty Fire Department Moriarty, NM to share with the least fortunate family they know. Because they see the littlest ones in the darkest nights that truly need and deserve the blessings of a wonderful life and a moment of joy and hope for this season, and each and every day.

  184. Amanda says:

I would like to nominate myself, and my family.I am a single 20 year old mom to a 16 month old girl and a 6 month old boy, I have lupus and suffer from depression and anxiety so i’ve been unable to work and still fighting to get social security benefits. My daughter was born 6weeks early with a congenital heart defect as well as spina bifida and still can’t walk and is just starting p.t .my son was born with the cord around his neck and we nearly lost him then because he wasnt getting enough oxygen and then nov 6th he stopped breathing and we ended up in the hospital for a week with him, times have been tough and with how much we put out for his meds and things to make it safe to bring him home,we’ve got no money for christmas, we were already barely getting bye and this put even more of a strain on our familys christmas.

  185. amanda says:

I’d love to nominate my self.I’m a single mother to a 16 month old and a 6 month old.my 16 month old has a CHD and spina bifida,i have lupus and anxiety/depression issues. My 6 month old stopped breathing on the 6th of nov and we nearly lost him and since then my money has been barely enough to make bills and christmas will not happen if i dont win this! thank you!

  186. mandi says:

I’d love to nominate myself . I’m a mom to two kids 16 months and 6 months,i have lupus and depression/anxiety.my 16 month old has spina bifida. My 6 month old stopped breathing on nov 6 and was in the hosp for a week since then our money has been tight and barely made bills and now we can’t make christmas happen because if we dont make bills we dont have a home.

  187. Sarah H says:

Times are touch all around and I wish everybody who needs a little help this time of year culd receive it, but I want to put my brother-in-law’s family at the top of the list. They have two young children who are one year apart, and the older one is a special needs child which has been very difficult for my sister-in-law, who has stopped working so that she can attend to her daughter’s needs. A special surprise gift basket would be such a treat for the whole family!

  189. Nicole says:

I nominate my family! My husband and I are older parents who had newborn twins over the summer.

  190. Jeannie says:

Friends, Tara and Tarver, have two beautiful little boys. Earlier this month Tara had a seizure and was diagnosed with a malformation in her brain. She has to undergo brain surgery December 30. This family has already faced hardship, and now this…They’re a great family to gift this to.

  191. Kerri says:

I hate to feel selfish and ask for it for myself… But with that many gifts, I could share with so many friends who are in the same financial situation as I am this year. My housr at work have been reduced and my husban left a month ago. We have huge medical bills… I hate to sound like a complainer, and I hope that whoever does receive this gift returns the generousity…

  192. ericka says:

i would like to nominate my very own sweetest husband. Due to medical complications of mine, he took most all night shifts w our newborn, then was up every morning for work, then back for night shifts. I know it took years off his life! Then, more complications, and issues w an unsavory employer, and i am out of work. We now rely fully on his income, which is causing much stress and many things to be cut back and off. I know more hardship will likely follow–it would be great if this baby had a lovely 1st Christmas. And for the sweetest husband, who surely deserves it! :D
    thanks*

  193. Alesha Campbell says:

My family deserves this gift, i have two little brothers who might not get much this year because my family is having a hard time with money but the two youngest boys deserve to have something to look forward too. My parents both don’t bring in very much money but they try to give their children anything that they can.

  194. Maureen says:

I think the Riepl family more than is deserving of this prize. About 4 weeks ago, Kevin had a very unexpected heart attach (from an unknown virus that attacked his heart) and almost died. Somehow, he was miraculously able to fight back (the doctors thought for sure he would die). He finally was able to come home to his wife and twin 3 yr old boys the day before Thanksgiving! Tracy (his wife) has been amazingly positive throughout. Kevin is an independent contractor so things are really tough financially while he recovers. They’d really benefit from this amazing gift!

  195. Corinne Valor says:

As a mom with two children and one on the way it’s very rare I buy anything for myself. As a avid reader I would love to have on of these! Maybe Santa will make this Mom’s wish come true this year!

  196. Michelle B says:

My family deserves this great prize as DH has just had his wages cut in half just weeks before christmas

  198. Jamie says:

I would nominate my son’s 2nd family, his daycare. It is a small center run by three magnificent women. My two sons have gone there for 3 years and I have never seen a child cry when being dropped off and they are so happy at day’s end, its sometimes hard to get them to come home. I think that is a tremendous reflection of the quality of staff that work there. I recently spent 7 weeks in the hospital on bed rest and they were so supportive: cooking dinners for my husband and kids, visiting me in the hospital, allowing my boys to stay a little later, and offering their prayers and love to my family. Imagine how much those kids would love to get some new things for their rooms and rewarding the staff too. They are so deserving.

  199. Ashley Sumners says:

I think this would be great for our family. My husband has lost his job three times in the past two years, and we don’t have very much money. This would be awesome!

  200. Mari B says:

I would love to win this on behalf of my twins’ club philanthropy program. Gemini Crickets is supporting 12 families this year and the basket could be split up between them, benefiting at least 24 kids! LOL It’s hard coping with multiples and being “in-need” too, well, I can’t even imagine!

  201. Kay says:

Mourie’s house burned down about a month ago. She has several younger siblings, and buying Christmas gifts this year will be very hard.

  202. Jen F says:

I would like to nominate my friend Caroline. They have had a heck of a year. They saved their pennies and bought a house, only to find out the inspector failed them miserably and the place was unlivable — down to the rotten foundation and subfloor. For 6 months now this family of four has been living in people’s spare bedrooms while the house is slowly repaired. They weren’t able to pay for a rental during the repairs because they had to pay their mortgage. They originally thought the repairs would take 2 weeks and they put all their things into storage. For 6 months they have been borrowing, living out of suitcases and making due. The 1-year-old and 3-year-old boys have been champs, but the instability has taken its toll. This family could really use a miracle, or at least a merry Christmas. They are so sweet and deserve something to go their way!

  203. Elizabeth N. says:

I nominate my coworker, Patricia, and her family. Her husband works two jobs while she works full-time, so they are definitely trying to make ends meet! It seems like she is always just a little behind and a helping hand could help her get over that hump!

  204. Kathy S says:

I would love to win this because every year we donate gifts and toys to various charities and local organizations for Christmas. We’re retired, and find that with the economy being the way it is, it is more difficult to do this properly. Winning this would do our hearts good in helping those in need.

  205. Lynn says:

I think this would be the best thing that could happen to my family this year. I have been sick & unable to work for a long time, I just recently found out I have lupus. We are always short on money, even more so this year due to major car repairs that couldn’t be put off any longer due to safety reasons. And I need my car to get to all the doctors. I would love to be able to nominate someone else too, but right now we are the ones I know of that could really use this wonderful & amazing Christmas surprise. Thank you for the opportunity :)

  206. jessie says:

I would nominate my two and a half year old, she has been such a wonderful big sister ever since her baby brother arrived over the Summer. She gives him a big hug and a kiss every morning when he wakes, she has really set the bar high for all of us.

  207. Amanda says:

I would say that my fiance and our children deserve to win this because they have been so hard working and we have had a very hard year with moving and our new baby. This would make Christmas perfect.

    smycarter@gmail.com

  208. Corinne Kurzmann says:

My children are grown now( 5 sons) and I like to spend time at our local homeless shelter..this would be grand to have to divide between several families..their are so many that will do without and I would be proud to help them have a grand holiday and a present to open!
    Corinne

  209. Rehtse says:

I’d like to nominate my sister and her family. We used to spend the holidays together and we miss them since they moved. My sister works very hard and her husband is a stay at home dad. They don’t have vacation time or $ to come see us but we’d love to brighten their winter.

  210. Kristina says:

My family are the most important thing in my life so I nominate them. While they may only seem ordinary to the world they are extraordinary to me, from the buttercups my Miss 5 picks for me every other day to show she loves me to the burnt toast with breakfast in bed on mothers day. Love me for who I am no matter what, and I can be pretty unloveable sometimes lol. They deserve the world because they are mine.

  211. Monique Mueller says:

My twin sister Kersten, the one that gives away the shirt on her back deserves this package! She and her boyfriend both yoga teachers deserve a little treat for their new one on its way, what a great way to celebrate the gift of life!
    Blessings

  212. Rhonda Lockery says:

I nominate my daughter Rachel who was in a terrible abusive relationship for thirteen years ,she has now been a single mum of two boys for the past eight years , she does her best for them but there are many things their friends enjoy that she simply cant afford
she works hard but her wages only cover rent and food
I would love something as wonderful as this to happen for her

  213. Paula Jean says:

I would like to nominate my family,my Husband just got a job after being off of work for 19 & 1/2 months & we still do NOT know where it`s going to go . I have to great boys & the toys & things that they do not use I`ll donate them to someone else. That would use them . And my Husband is a great provider , but we had it rough for 19 & 1/2 months. Cause right know I do NOT know where it`s going to come from .

  214. Lynda T says:

Hello! I am nominating our family. We are a one income family, we lost our home to foreclosure earlier in the year. We now rent in another state, husband’s job transferred us here. We have been through many trials & tribulations in our 20 yrs of marriage. God has always seen us through. Good luck to all entered!

  215. Tammy Cushman-Czabala says:

I would like to nominate my cousin. She is a single parent to 5 kids, the youngest just 10 months. After having her last child her husband and her have separated and he hasn’t been much help. On Thanksgiving while making dinner she reached into the oven to wipe up a spill from a pie and when she put just a little pressure inside the oven it tipped over on top of her. On the stove was a HUGE pot of boiling potatoes and the entire pot, potatoes, water, including the burners fell on top of her leaving her with 2nd and 3rd degree burns. She burned her entire back, from her neck all the way down the back of her knees. Thankfully her best friend was there at the time and was able to get her into a cold shower and it saved her from even worse burns. I would like for my cousin to be nominated since she will be spending the next months dealing with this horrible accident and trying to recover. She was already fighting a tough battle single with 5 kids and I know she would also share the basket with her friend.

  216. Lisa Taylor says:

I need to nominate my family. We have recently taken guardianship of my 2 nephews because their mom was not able to take care of them due to personal issues. We now have 6 kids ages 7,9,11,12,14,15.We are doing best we can but need help to give them a decent Christmas.

It almost feels wrong making a case about “deserving” something. That said, we have been laid off 3 times in the last 6 years, have no savings left and are fighting to keep our home while keeping a brave face for our kids.

We are a family of six struggling.I am blessed that my husband has a job but the bonus we depend on for Christmas has been cut out.I would love to share some of this with other families we know who are also having it tough. Thanks!

  222. Janice M says:

My family & our friends would appreicate winning this gift basket.I am the Aunt of 10 young children and have three freinds that have 8 young children that would benfit from the wonderful items in this gift basket. Hard times are the norm for most family’s these days and winning this basket would brigthen the holidays for many family’s. Good luck to all and no matter who wins I hope the holdays bring cheer to all.

  223. Melissa B. says:

I know a mother and her two children who have been enduring mental abuse from her husband for years and it’s finally ending this christmas with a restraining order and divorce filing. Although they are extremely relieved to be rid of their abuser, they are living only on the mother’s small salary.

  224. Tonya Dean says:

Wow! There are so many people who deserve this and have made it through some tough times. Reading these stories shows me we haven’t had it that bad. Does it make me a bad person if I still say I wanna win?

  225. Shanna says:

I would like to nominate my family. My son deserves this so much. When he was born, we were told he wasn’t going to make it. 4 months later, we were able, by the grace of God, to take him home. He is now 3.5, healthy as ever! My husband and I are going through a divorce, so hardship has hit our family. Through this all, money has been so tight, this would be such a blessing.

I read most of the stories on this page and some are heart breaking. But $2500 for presents? Normal people that are on a budget wouldn’t spend that much on all the presents bought. I love my 2 boys and the one on the way but I would never think to spend that much on them for 1 Christmas. My husband and I budgeted $60 per kid and 2 family gifts that we can all enjoy. I think we all want to win, but most of the people that are asking for others I would bet are already getting aid this year from a local church or charity. So maybe that is where it should go to the local Salvation Army so that it can help lots of families!

  228. Michael says:

I nominate my children & their families. This would be used by me as their grandfather to help and return the love they have shown me.

  229. Cynthia Mercado says:

I nominate our family. I am disabled (social worker) due to an accident 3 years ago. My husband just retired. Due to limited income this would help our family of 9 tremendously. Even with my disability, I volunteer at my son’s school and help out at charity events frequently. My husband is very involved also and does most of the housework and cooking for the family, since I am unable to sit or stand for long periods of time. As of right now, I do not know how we are getting gifts for the family but the most important is that we are altogether. This is what we teach our children. Even if we don’t win, I know someone’s Christmas will be merry. Thank You! Like on FB Cynthia M

  230. SRod says:

This would help me provide great gifts to all the wonderful children in our family. Its been a rough year and I would hate to have to skip out on getting gifts for my nieces, nephews and godchildren

  231. Tesa S. says:

I’m nominating my own family. I’m a single out of work mom who is starting college for the 1st time in January. I had a great job, which I was planning to retire from, but unexpectedly got “outsourced” with 124 other people. It’s going to be hard, but I will be going to school full-time and seeking full-time employment at the same time. I’m a little old to be starting over, but I’m gonna give it my best shot. This would be so much appreciated by my kids and myself.

  232. Nichole Brewer says:

I’m nominating my small family. My fiance and I are supposed to be married next August but unfortunatley after putting a deposit on the place he lost his job. He has been desperately searching but it seems as if everyone is. We have a son that is 6 years old and we are really hoping to give him a great Christmas despite everything. Thank you so much for the consideration.

  233. heidi donahue says:

im nominating my own family, because this year we have a 9 month old son and i am pregnant and my husband lost his job, and i would love to be able to provide gifts for my son as well as the other members of our family(neices, nephews, god children)

  234. Pauline M says:

I have a neighbor, single mom with 2 children and is reestablishing herself from prior homelessness. She’s worked very hard to get where she is and will not ask for help with the holidays. This would be a great secret santa!

  235. Katie R. says:

My parents deserve to win because they have supported me my entire life and are now paying for my college education. This has put a large financial strain on them but they are doing it because they want the best for me.

  236. Phil Estelle, Jr. says:

What A Wonderful Way To Celebrate The Holidays. We Are A Family Of 5, Our 3rd Child Is A Foster Child. She Is A Welcome Addition To Our Home And We Would Love To Win And Use The Gifts In The Basket To Help Provide Game Night Family Fun!

  237. Jennifer C. says:

I would love to treat a coworker of mine with this basket! She has an adorable 3 year old and is expecting and she does her best to educate others on natural parenting.

  238. chastidy says:

I would love to nominate my family. We live on one income and my husband is working so hard to get us out of debt. This would be so wonderful to win for my two boys and nieces and nephews :)

  239. Betty C says:

I nominate my friend Elizabeth‘s family. She has spina bifida and is in a wheelchair. They have an 8 year old son. She is unable to work and has just her disability income. Her ex-boyfriend’s employer closed his store. Her parents are disabled and I don’t have any extra money.

  240. Justine says:

I am nominating my own family because this year has been our worst ever financially. Our income is now a 1/3 of what it was and we have had to sell all our cars and we are still trying to save our house. I would love to surprise my family!

  241. Alison says:

I nominate my sister, Anne. Her and her husband have worked hard to provide a stable life for their family. They’ve went through a lot as their 2 y/o has a condition that has caused fluid on her brain, she’s had many surgeries. I think they deserve a pick-me-up!

(49 words, whew – that was hard to keep it under 50!)

    THANK YOU!!

  242. jackie says:

Like most, I nominate my family. My reason is simple, both my husband and I are unemployed. My husband is recovering from surgery which removed his cancerous femur, and I am on maternity leave. We are currently living with family, and would love to have something special for my children underneath the Christmas tree! Thank you Babble!

  243. jackie says:

    I like Babble on Facebook!

  244. Diane Baum says:

My nomination is a little different from the others, as i am nominating a preschool classroom in Detroit, MI. My friend Linda Gale teaches 20 plus 3 and 4 year old preschoolers who either have physical, mental, or social impairments. The majority come from poverty. I would love to see the basket divided between the families in her class.

  245. Regina M says:

While our family has seen struggles the past few years, we are fortunate compared to some. I would like to see the basket donated to toys for tots. It could help so many out there. Everyday families struggle due to medical issues, military deployment, and other issues. This is one way to reach out to others, who may need it even more.

  246. Lisa Carr says:

I nominate my sister. She’s been struggling terribly since her husband lost his job 2 years ago. He cannot work but cannot get approved for disability. She’s the only one working, with 3 kids & a grandson. She works extra hours and is always doing for others – family, friends and church members.

  247. Lyndsey Rullman says:

I would like to nominate my family. We have just had the worst luck in the passed year and a half. To make a long story short. I am a single mother of a 5 year old boy. I moved to Ohio from California with my father when I was 15. My father is all I have ever had. He was taken from me about 2 years ago. It has never been the same for us. I have always been independent however, if ever in need I could always look to him. That has now been taken from us. This year has been terrible for us. I am thankful to still have a job. However, due to the economy and the housing market my company has been very slow which means I have lost hours per week. This now has turned into us being evicted from our apartment. I am scared I will now not be able to provide any sort of Christmas for my son. I feel terrible although luckily my son is understanding. However, I would love to surprise him with anything. We are currently living in my boss’ basement and hopefully by the end of January can once again have our own home. Wish us luck. – Never Underestimate the Power of Prayer!

  248. Carolyn says:

I would like to nominate the Ramirez family. They’ve had a very difficult year, and this would really brighten their spirits. They are one of the poorest families I’ve ever met, yet somehow they manage to get buy. They recently lost their father, the primary breadwinner, and had two new additions to their family. I know they are struggling, but won’t ask for handouts. I would love nothing more than to surprise them with this amazing gift! They truly deserve it.

  249. Christine Holliday says:

I would like to nominate my family. To be more specific my husband and children. Recently I had to go to the hospital for an emergency which completely wiped out our Christmas fund.
I feel so bad because if it weren’t for me Christmas would have rolled on just fine. My husband works so much to help provide for this family, one of his jobs being a teacher for Sped kids, which in case no one knew gets paid less then a real teacher. Now I feel like I have put so much pressure on him to work more to get Christmas and I hate to see him go through that. If I won the basket I would put it under my tree, but also use it for my nieces and nephews who some of live with me. We tend to take in everyone and it breaks us down financially, but how can you turn someone away.

  250. Heather M says:

I nominate my own family, because I would share all these gifts with other family and friends and give them away as gifts, I would also donate them to our local toy drives for kids in need.

  251. Amy Delong says:

I would say the family that my sons school is giving to this year, they lost one of their children, and they are really in a rough spot!

  252. susan smoaks says:

I would like to nominate my family. We work really hard and do not have any extra money for Christmas. This year our only car has broken down and we are going to spend everything we have on a car that will get us to work. We can’t seem to get ahead, no matter how hard we try. Our children do not deserve to go without, but we do our best and still can’t get them anything special for Christmas.
Life is rough, but God is good.

    Thanks for the chance!

  253. lori says:

we have no money or family to help us out. no car to get to chirstmas help in our area its so sad that my kids are struggling with us on chirstmas, i pray i have a little money to take them to see santa and get them a gift.if we won i will split all the toy between my two girls and niece and nepfews who father is in prison this would make us all so happy this year.god bless

  254. renee t says:

i would say my daugther she has 2 kids and 7 nieces and nepfews. she just had a baby in march and is having a hard time paying her bills and getting pampers for the baby.i want to help as much as i can but im just hurting myself times are so hard for these low income familys if she doesnt win maybe babble.can help in some other ways

  255. Kat Emerick says:

I want to nominate my daughter. She has 1 child who is my wonderful granddaughter and my daughter tries her best to raise her alone. She does a wonderful job and right now her hours were cut at work and only has about 12 hours a week and told me that Christmas will be small this year. She has never asked for money or help and this prize would be a real blessing for her. Thanks for letting me nominate her.

  256. Michelle Tucker says:

I’m not sure if we deserve this any more than any of the previous stories, but here is ours. My husband and I cannot have children. For the past two years we’ve been live in care givers to 3 special needs girls. About 6 months ago, we decided to go ahead and get a place of our own. We began to foster one of the girls that lived in the home with us. So she is now truly living in our home. She’s an adult, but a lot of these things she would enjoy. Since we gave up our income to foster her, we don’t really have a lot to spare. We want to give her and the rest of our families a great Christmas, but we just don’t have the monetary ability. I’d love to be able to give her a Christmas that she’s never had. She means the world to us. Thanks for having this giveaway. Have a happy holiday.

  257. Gena says:

I would like to nominate myself! I do not have any children but I do have over 20 Neices, nephews and other friends’ children and it would be great to be able to spread this joy to the children!

  258. alyce poyner says:

Due to a surprise surgery in may we have had to tighten our boot straps. My kids 9 and 5 have been so understanding. I would LOVE to give them a good christmas!

  259. Angie A says:

This would be a gift that I could share with all my sisters. We have each struggled and overcame issues in many ways this year. With the birth of my youngest ( of 4) I have quit working to stay home with the little ones and finances are tight. I have a nephew who is low functioning Austic, and his family is finding it very hard to work and care for him, plus his other brothers. One of my sisters is having some mental health issues and her kids really could use a nice surprise. And my youngest sister just started her own business and she could use some help with Christmas for her son. This is a giveaway I think our whole family could use to gather together and create great memories for our kids.

  260. Laketra says:

I really don’t know the family. But my daughter pulled a little girls name off the Salvation Army tree at our local mall for needy kids. The little girl is 6 yrs. old and all she asked for were clothes. I just bet she would love toys also. My Nomination!!

  261. jeniffer smith says:

I would like to nominate my family. My husband & I have four children ages 15, 11, 9, 2. They are such awesome kids & don’t ask for
anything for Christmas, they just appreciate what they have & give to others with a happy heart so this would be so neat for them to receive!

  262. jennifer says:

I nominate myself however I want to win this as a Christmas surprise for my sister. She is a single parent of two amazing kids. The children’s father was caught cheating and now she is stuck in a horrible battle for child support and cannot afford any gifts this year. I want to win this for her and leave it under their tree as a huge surprise. She is the best sister and mother I have ever seen and I would love to see her face when she is able to give her kids this basket full of goodies from Santa! I’m sure there are many people out there who have gone through tough times this year so who ever wins this will have a brighter holiday!

  263. Sand says:

I’d like to nominate my own family as I’ve been seeking work since August and things are rather tight right now.

  264. Tina Page says:

I nominate my friend, Missy. She is a single mother who has recently returned to school in her 30s. She is a wonderful mother and she and I are both hoping that a college education pulls her out of the economic slump she is presently encountering. She is on the welfare system but is trying so hard to pull out of it. As it is now she should graduate next year with a computer science degree, but currently she has had many interviews for jobs to no avail and I would love to make her and maggie’s xmas something to remember. Thank you for the chance to do something beautiful for someone so deserving…

  265. Tiffany Krumins says:

I would like to nominate a family that has had really hard year. The mother faced cancer that did not allow her to ever really get back to 100 percent, the husband lost his job of 15 years due to sudden seizures. He didn’t take the easy way out, as a matter of fact, he took the first job he could get to provide for his family, Waffle House. They have 5 children who are the sweetest, I would love this family to have a blessing like this to end a very hard year!

  266. Val Stow says:

I would like to nominate a good friend of mine who had a wonderful homebirth on 11/11. Her and her husband had tried to conceive for a long time. A few short days after the birth of their daughter, they discovered that her esophagus was not attached and they spent the last 2 1/2 weeks in the NICU. Luckily Jasmine is on her way to recovery, but the family now faces huge medical bills because they didn’t have good insurance. This would be a great Christmas present for them. Thanks.

  267. Courtney Bussell says:

I would like to nominate my family too win, because we have game night or family night every week and we love games. A close family member was just hospitalized and so we really value this time together. We would love to use these toys and games to bring us closer together.

  268. Tammy Greer says:

I nominate myself (my family) because we have been struggling with many issues this year. We are trying to work through our problems but it has been a very difficult time for us. We could really use some cheer this holiday season.

  269. chanell says:

i would like to say my family this would really bring joy to the whole family mine and others,we have lost our jobs, belongings, car and are about to lose or place and im sorry to say a little bit of our joy for the hoildays, due to so many money issues it seems like it never ends,my 10 year old daughther is tell everybody she doesnt even want to have chirstmas anymore cause she never gets anthing, and in the past if she did get something we didnt have enough to get what she really wanted. if god and babbles.com finds it in there heart to let us win it would be a wonderful blessing

  273. Paula Dalton-Stewart says:

I have been a book- a -day person since I learned to read at 5. I now have a degenerative spinal decease, spinal stenosis and both of my hands and arms are now without any feeling so holding my books have gotten very difficult. I have already lost 4 of the vertabrae, It is true that I can hold a paperback for a while but the size of the font defeats that after five or ten minutes. Also being off work because of this decease also means the cost of all the books I am missing means I cannot afford them now. I have been really missing this important part of my life and this has become impossible for me to buy but just as importantly read. When I worked full time I read a book a day and now that I am disabled and cannot work–in the past a whole day at home would have me well into or finished a second book. I am a 62- year- grandmother of four and now I cannot afford the books I always had for each when they would visit. Now they range in age from 2 to 16. I always prided on having books available for them but due to living on a fixed income I cannot do that either. But I will admit I am the selfish one–when faced with the choice of buying books or food, I have often bought the books. The kindle would be easier for me to hold and perhaps if needed I can change the font. Please help me get my books back into my life!

  274. Paula Dalton-Stewart says:

My plea to get books back into my life is already written above-I have a degenerative spinal decease and have lost all strength and feelings in my arms and hands. As I said before I am a 62 year old lady who has read at least one book a day. On a day off it would be closer to one and a half or two books. Now that this spinal stenosis has left my hands so weak I can hold a paperback for a short while but the font in paperbacks is another problem. I never saw a kindle until I was brousing through this site but I quickly realized this could give me back this important and now lost part of my life. If I am correct,I can download books which addrresses the second problem, living on unemployment and waiting for a disability pension I cannot afford to feed my book habit. I also have 4 grandchildren and was proud to always have a book available for them when they could visit. Again I cannot continue this because of the lack of funding. I have,in the past chosen a book and gave up on some food but my health will become worse faster if I am not eating properly. It is like a whole in my chest, not being able to lose myself in a book. It was also an escape from the pain. So this is a selfish request please give this lost part of my life back. I am losing bits and pieces of other things-mobility,difficulty eating but mostly I miss what was always my hiding place–inside a good book.

  275. Paula Dalton-Stewart says:

I have written twice already an appeal for a kindle to gift the gift of books back into my life.

  279. Paula Dalton-Stewart says:

I am taken off work because of spinal stenosis,a degenerative spinal decease which has already taken away the use of both my hands and arms. Previously I was the helping Santa for my two daughters and four grandchildren. With this decease I am living on a small unemployment awaiting an answer for a federal disability pension. One daughter is expecting the fifth grandchild–the first boy in our family. I have worked since I was 15 and worked my way through college. I am now 62 and unable to work anymore. I never asked for help before but I feel panicy and more than sad that I cannot give to the 4 children this year They range in age from 2 to 16 and I truly ask that some Santa help me. I have never asked before but I am desperate and since Nanny did it for all of their lives, especially the young ones–heck even myself I am having a great deal of trouble dealing with this. Is there a Santa out there that could make a Christmas for my four dolls age 2,age 12,age13 and age16. Christmas is a time for miracles and please help me be the Christmas miracle for these children this year.

Like a lot of families we were hit hard by the economy, we lost our savings and are already stressing out about the holidays. I have 2 young kids and to receive this prize would be a blessing. My kids have been thru a lot and a gift like this would be a miracle to us. My kids are really great little people who deserve something good to happen to them. Please consider us for this prize I can assure you we would be very grateful to receive this. Thank you.

  289. Melissa Teddleton says:

I would like to nominate my sister, Melissa. She is a wonderful, super mom of four beautiful children. She plays both roles (mother & father) very well. She is extremely appreciative, generous, hard working, & mostly important giving. I feel that it is time to give back to her. She is so busy doing for others, she doesn’t notice how less she does for herself! She has a 5yr old daughter, a 3 yr old son, & her twin girls, will be one this Monday, the 21st. Watching her daily duties, makes me want to record her lol just so you can see how much she does. She is currently unemployed, looking for work & trying to provide for her family, without an income. Her facial expressions when a Christmas commercial comes on just saddens me, because she knows she cant afford the Christmas she want her children to have! Please do me a favor & nominate my sister, she truly deserve it! Thank you, & have a blessed day :)

  290. Alisha Ballard says:

I believe that I deserve this because I have never once won anything in my life that I have ever entered. I recently gave birth to a beautiful baby boy and he deserves so much more than I can offer and this would help me give that to him!

  291. Candace Sikiric says:

We are a family of six living on one income. Daddy works away and the kids would really love to have more than we can afford. It would be a great Christmas.
