It’s a sad truth of the digital age that many of our best family photos live inside our computers. Or on our blackberries. Or worse yet, on a memory card. I try to be extremely diligent about uploading my pics and ordering prints, which I swiftly file away into a set of lovely photo albums (from Kolo). But even this system means they only get admired on occasion. What we really need, fellow parents, is frames!
I suggest picking up great standard-size frames whenever you see them and storing them in a drawer so that there is always one on-hand when a frame-worthy print arrives in the mailbox.
This thought occurred to me (again) while I was ogling the just-launched online shop of Canvas, one of my favorite home accessories lines. They have so many gorgeous things—sadly nothing for kids, but hey, parents are people too—and among the hand-blown glass carafes and baby alpaca throws, I spotted these great linen-wrapped frames. They are perfect for just about anywhere (entry table, desk, nightstand, bookshelf) because they are sophisticated, but not too formal or precious. They say “I have good taste, but I’m not trying too hard. Oh, and my kids are gorgeous.”
