Darth Vader Does Disney [Video]
Two things have been the talk of the internet this week: Hurricane Sandy and Disney buying Lucasfilm Ltd.
While the former was a sobering look at what is truly important in life, the latter had the web whipped into a frenzy at the thought of further sequels in the iconic Star Wars franchise. More Ewoks? A return of Jar Jar Binks? Who knows?
I already have 2015 circled on my calendar, I can tell you that. Episode VII is already on the calendar and I can’t wait. I wrote this past summer of sharing the Star Wars Moment with my oldest son. It’s an adventure story that transcends time and I love sharing it with my boys.
Disney has wasted no time in capitalizing on the announcement. Already a video has been released opening with “Darth Vader… Now that you’re part of the Disney family.. What will you do next?”
The 68 second clip features Darth Vader taking a tour of his new digs. Flanked by two Stormtroopers, Lord Vader rides the merry go round, the teacups, takes a flight on Dumbo, grabs popcorn, and sits front rown on Space Mountain – of course. He raises King Arthur‘s Sword in the Stone, checks out the princesses, and whips out his light saber in the Haunted House. A busy day wraps up on Main Street soaking up the fireworks.
It looks like he’s going to fit right in.
