As I compiled this little list of Pinterest success stories I realized that I’ve made an awful lot of treats, thankfully I gave most of them away. I mentioned my Pinterest board “A Pin A Week” board the other day and while I haven’t done a new pin every single week, I have been inspired by Pinterest daily especially when it comes to my hair. There’s so many other things to discover on there and it’s growing everyday. It’s one thing to see things pinned, it’s another thing to see average people with average skills execute the impressive feats seen on pinterest. Some have been total successes (see them all below) others have been less than impressive (cookie dough brownies, sad.)
It’s been fun going through my pins with Addie and letting her pick our next great project. Here’s what we’ve done so far!
Car Garbage Can!
We found a cereal container and use it as a garbage container in the car! I put sticky velcro on the side so it would attach to the side and not fall over. Original source and image: Better Homes and Gardens
We made an apple pie with cinnamon roll crust. It was probably a little too much work and a few too many calories, but it looked and sounded impressive! Original inspiration found here.
We made little chocolate cakes in coffee mugs in the microwave. They certainly weren't as delicious as a big chocolate cake but they were more fun to make. Find the original recipe and instructions here. Photo Credit: 2 Stews
We made homemade Twix bars from this recipe. We made them last night and they are all gone tonight because we had to give them away or our pants wouldn't fit anymore. 5 sticks of butter in one 9 x 13 pan? Mmm. Gluttony. Image Credit: Foodie Parent
We made S'Mores cookie bars. They didn't last long enough to actually take a photo of them. The graham cracker dough? I dare you not to eat it all because OMYSOGOOD. Original recipe and photo credit found here.
We made a Thanksgiving pie crust with little leaf cut outs. If you can find the pie crust cutters (I got mine from Williams-Sonoma) this is an easy way to make an ordinary pie super fancy. Original inspiration found here.

I was all excited about “Homemade Twix Bars” until I read “5 sticks of butter”. I’m still on the rebound from Easter candy, so that one will have to wait. Boo-hoo!

Social Auto-Sharing Facts:
Q: What's the deal with this 'Social Sharing' box I see on articles and videos? What's it do?

Q: What if I don't want to share everything I'm doing? My boss will see I'm on Babble way too much, and I might be reading something on a sensitive topic that I don't want people seeing that I'm reading.
A. You're in total control -- turn sharing on, turn it off, or set your share setting to "Share only posts I choose to share."
