12 Lessons on Life and Love for My Son

By amberdoty |

I’ve made a few mistakes in my 27 years. I’ll pause right there while you overcome the shock of that news.

Oh! Who am I kidding? You’ve witnessed me make a mess of things dozens of times over the last five years. (Dinner every night. Ahem.) Trial and (lots of) error is my mode of operation. The thing is, you can’t screw up that many times in life without learning a few lessons.

I know that you’ll have to experience things, make mistakes even, to grow into the man you were meant to be, but I’d like to offer you a few pieces of advice to get you started.

Be a gentleman

Treat every woman the way you treat your sister and I, but if she acts as nuts as we do right out the gate, run. A proper woman eases you into her crazy.

    AMEN, Amber, Amen.

I agree with being a gentleman, but a women should be upfront with men, not ease into the crazy, it’s like selling a lemon. We are simple in relationships, be honest and accept the honesty.
It’s all right to cry for family deaths, your fallen brothers, or your child being born.
I agree with the jeans, but not just for your father, but also yourself.
The good preview, not the ads.
I agree, the same goes for emails.
And women should not go into a man’s phone or wallet, it’s the same concept, trust, I will warn all my friends that you don’t have any.
If you are at a place that has salads that look like that, then chances are it’s somewhere nice where he expected to have wine.
I agree to make it your career, but it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give it out, be generous to your friends and family, and every now and then a complete stranger, it’s all about charity.
I agree, if he hurts her, you hurt him.
If you’re in the service, you’ll regret it after a few years, the love it when you get out, remember that.
If you are at a place that has salads that look like that, then chances are it’s somewhere nice where he expected to have wine.
A truck can be affordable if you plan financially and pick one that will benefit you most, don’t get it lifted because it’s cool while on welfare or a v10 that gets 15mpg. Toyota pickups are beasts, you just don’t know it, the same with the newer rangers and also s-10s.
Time is valuable, spend it making loved ones happy and you will be too. The game can be a family thing or turn to a father son thing as well.

This is from the mentality of men.
Bottom line, Blood can not be broken except by those who hold it, always come to their defense, even after a huge fight, and make sure they take responsibility for their actions, even if it means turning them into the police.
