A Weekend to Remember

Last week, we had one of those great weekends where nothing spectacularly awesome happened but it was fantastic nonetheless.

My mom and stepdad were in town, and it’s always fun to get to spend time with them. Because they were visiting, we got to eat at our favorite restaurants and the kids spent a good part of Saturday swimming in the hotel pool. Dylan is a bit of a fish, and has always loved being in the pool. If given the opportunity, he will get in and not get out until he absolutely has to. He lived up to this on Saturday and spent a solid 2 hours in the water.

Zachary, on the other hand, was content to get out a few times to sit in the sun, and eventually left the pool area with his Grandpa in favor of watching cartoons and eating pretzels in the room.

It’s a tough life.

We’ve spent so much of our free time the past few months working on remodeling our house that I almost forgot how much fun it is to just hang out all weekend long. I needed the reminder that we don’t necessarily have to plan a big outing or fun adventure in order to have a memorable weekend.

Sometimes, it’s the little things that make for the best memories.
