Bye Bye Babble Kids!Casey Mullins
I made a promise to myself that when I began to feel overwhelmed I would scale things back. That time has come, and to be honest I’m surprised it didn’t come sooner. You see, until I was properly medicated I was unable to take on ANY commitments at all, it was just too much of a risk to take on obligations, have other people rely on me and then fall prey to my own brain leaving the other people counting on me with nothing. There was a time I had to focus only on my family and making it through each day. Learning how to say no was one of the hardest and best things I ever learned to do for myself.
That being said, this will be my last regular post on Babble Kids. I certainly won’t be doing less, but I’m taking a few extra things off my proverbial plate, and I’m pretty sure the crowd I leave behind will manage to keep you entertained without me. I’ll still be around, finishing up a few campaigns here and there. The nice folks at Babble carved me a brand new blog over at Babble Voices that I’ll be moving into on the first of June. I’ve learned so much during my time here, ways of parenting, ways of coping with stress, criticism and truths I hold near and dear to my own heart. I also ended up on Dr. Drew, no big deal.
Take care of each other, be quick to forgive and slow to judge. There’s enough grumpy people in the world, no need to add to the selection. I’ve learned that judgement is much easier to fling at older kids and their parents, I still haven’t figured out why. I could never quit the Internet, too much good stuff in my life has come from it, including my two best friends and being able to help complete strangers with my experiences.
Thanks for sharing my journey with me, for sharing bits and pieces of your lives with me. For giving me moments of your precious time to read what I’ve written. For understanding and accepting the differences between us and others around us. I”ll still always be over on my own blog, moosh in indy, after all, it’s what got me here. If you’re ever in Indy, let me know. I’ll tell you where the best tacos and frozen yogurt are.
Thanks for everything.
