Dump the Mom Frump: Grab Your Water Bottle

I have a confession. I really don’t like water and I’ve been terrible about forcing myself to drink it.

Instead, I drink coffee well into the afternoon most days, which is obviously a terrible habit.

Then, I have wine in the evenings.

It’s a wonder my body is functioning at all, really.

Our bodies are made up of roughly 60% water and every system in our bodies depends on it to function properly.

Studies show that water:

  • improves your immune system
  • improves your skin, the largest organ in your body
  • suppresses appetite
  • increases your metabolism
  • prevents headaches
  • aids in digestion

I know these things, yet I have been such a slacker.

The average woman requires 2.7 liters of water a day, but to get a good sense of how much water you need in a day, check out this water calculator that asks you a series of questions, including your weight, activity level, and alcohol intake.

So, in my attempt to defrump and keep up with my kids, I’m going to try to drink much more water, but I’m going to cheat a bit and try this strawberry water, this citrus cucumber water, and these minty ice cubes.
