Our Family's Easter Highlights (Photos)

It was a beautiful Easter weekend over here at our house. We’ve been swimming in chocolate, basking in sunshine and doing all kinds of springy things. The best part is we got to spend a whole lot of time together. That’s what Easter break is all about, isn’t it?

My kids are on the tail-end now of their super-long school break. I’m definitely not ready to send them back (but I’m definitely not ready to home-school them). So, off they’ll go. It makes me sad to say that. I’m going to have to set my alarm again. Oh. My. Goodness. I’m not ready to do that.

We celebrated Easter in a very low-key manner this year. The Easter Bunny brought way too much candy, (which I’ll convince my kids to sell to me for a reasonable price.) I can handle one day of the sugar binging, but multiple days? I don’t think so. He also brought a few things to help us get ready for the great weather that lies ahead.

I’m a fan of Easter because we don’t have to do much as far as presents and hoopla goes. The kids got some sidewalk chalk, bathing suits and new markers. That’s it. Typically the Easter Bunny brings new dresses and clothes for church, but this year she just couldn’t pull that much together.

I captured some of my favorite moments of our weekend on camera. Here’s a few…

    Strike! Strike! Strike!
We kicked off Good Friday with a round of bowling. The perfect sport for the cloudy day that was being sported outside.

    You Did it!
It's fun to watch them grow up and get better at things like throwing a bowling ball. I'm pretty sure they've caught up to me now in skill.

Whether we're bowling or just sitting around, the little moments like these that I can capture on camera are priceless.

    Is it Nap Time Yet?
What's an Easter weekend without a nap? We were all ready to unwind come Friday.
  • Eggs 5 of 11
    Eggs
Coloring eggs is one of those things that comes with Easter. It's too much fun!
  • Looking Good 6 of 11
    Looking Good
They were old enough this year to do 100% of the decorating themselves. Those eggs look awesome!
  • Waiting for Dad 7 of 11
    Waiting for Dad
Looks like the Easter Bunny came! They have to wait here until we're ready. Please note the mix-matched p.j's and messy hair. That's the real deal folks!
  • Easter Egg Hunt 8 of 11

Hey son, can you stop for a sec and give me a smile? For my son every day is either the "BEST" day or the "WORST" day. Today was the best day for him.
  • I Found Money 9 of 11
    I Found Money
The Easter Bunny filled half the eggs this year with quarters. Looks like he/she is trying to phase out candy little by little. Smart bunny!
  • Tender 10 of 11
    Tender
Another little precious moment. This one is classic. Chocolate dripping from lips, swimsuit half on and backwards, and a smile that says it really is a great day.
  • BBQ & Sun 11 of 11
    BBQ & Sun
We finished Easter off with some barbecue and sunshine. Just how I like to end a wonderful holiday.

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend! Tell me, how did you celebrate?
