Has Summer Arrived? Their Happy Smiles Say 'Yes'!

By Devan McGuinness |

The weather these past two weeks have been ridiculous — & by that I mean, hot. Who knew summer would arrive so early — technically I believe we are still in Spring, but the thermometer tells otherwise.

While I am not a fan of the heat and sun, my kids take a different take on it. For them it means daylight much longer, lots of time at the playground and popsicles.  We get to break out of our dinnertime routine and have more fun.

The past few weeks we have done just that. Instead of their ‘quiet time’ before bed, we go out to the playground for 2 hours after dinner. They run out their sillies, get a chocolate treat for desert and enjoy the extra sunlight.

So far, the not-quite-yet summer has been a good one:

I am excited to find what the summer-summer brings to us. With the kids at an age where they will enjoy certain things more (like the ZOO!), I am hoping we will find the time and energy to have ourselves a great summer.

::Do you and your family have anything big and fun planned for the summer?::
