He's Got the Moves Like…Jackson? (Video)

My son Zachary has recently become obsessed with Michael Jackson. While most 4-year-old boys are obsessed trucks or riding bikes or the wonders of their own penis, Zachary spends many hours perfecting his MJ moves. Between watching videos on YouTube to playing the Michael Jackson Experience game for Wii, the boy spends more time with his hand on his crotch then I care to admit. And that’s not even taking into account the potty dance. Which, coincidentally, he’s also gotten pretty good at lately.

On our recent trip to Disneyland, he was insanely excited to see Captain EO, and he spent a lot of the time we spent waiting in line for rides dancing and singing a la the King of Pop. People around us cracked up, as is usually the case with that kid.

I have taken many videos of him dancing and singing at home. Sadly, he’s wearing only underwear in many of them, so they aren’t available for public viewing. I like to think that Michael Jackson used to dance around his living room wearing only a fedora and tightie whities with cartoon characters on the butt, and that Zach is just staying true to character. He is an artist, after all.

Here is one of my favorite, fully clothed, Michael Jackson moments from Zach:

The boy isn’t afraid to put his own “spin” on things, but he definitely stays true to MJ’s personal style.

Are your kids obsessed with any particular musical artists? Do you have a great video of your kids (4 and older) singing and dancing along to their favorite music? If you want to share it for an upcoming post, email the YouTube link and a brief description to me at meghangwine@gmail.com! I can’t wait to see them.
